I couldn't locate an earlier report but The Daily Hoosier indicates this was a downgrade for Franke.

I'm familiar with the Varsity App, I like the station I use better. I just know from (unfortunately our limited) NCAA tourney experience that the radio streams seem harder to find and I don't remember if I had the same issue last year with the CFP game at Notre Dame.
