(2026) S D'Montae Tims to Indiana

Just making a thread for him after his visit yesterday.  @MemphisHoosier and @JSHoosier mentioned him in the 2025 IUFB thread.

He's a 3* out of FL, committed to Colorado but we're trying to flip him.  Sounds like Louisville is involved too right now.  Per the below tweet we are “trending" for a potential flip.  So, this might happen.  Fingers crossed.

One more tidbit here that is more definitive than "trending" -- D'Montae told Steve that we lead after his visit last weekend.

The talent level in Florida, as we know, is insane.  247 has him ranked as the 113th rated player in Florida yet he has offers from Georgia, Missouri, GA Tech, Colorado, Ole Miss, Miami, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, etc, etc.

Committed to IU.

It's great that IU is now able to flip players from other P4 schools, rather than how it usually went the other way in the past. They also beat out some really good programs.

I just watched his tape and I’d say he is seriously underrated by the recruiting services. He looks like a fast and decisive ball hawk that can be used multiple ways, tackles well, and doesn’t give up on plays.

I feel like we’re getting D’Angelo Ponds at safety with this kid.

This.  I could see a world where Tims is getting meaningful snaps at Rover in ‘26 w/Baldwin and Ferrell on the backend.

I hope we have Ferrell back next year. He could certainly make the pro leap though.
