No. 22 IUFB vs. Indiana State -- Friday, 9/12/25@6:30 on BTN

Recommended Posts

Not that it would matter….NIL 73. and counting

No NIL 0

1963 Indiana State 7.  IU. 6

2012 Indiana State.  17.   IU.  24

2014. Indiana State 10.  IU.  28

Not all games were blowouts.

(I remember T.A. and IU had like a 3 touchdown lead in a game (not ISU) and took their foot off the gas trying to play second stringers etc and ended up losing the game).

Any significant injuries announced during the game?  Saw Beebe’s name mentioned here and Cooper’s…before he went for the 58 yd td or however long it was.  Anyone else we should worry about for next Saturday?

I still can’t wrap my mind around IU not having a single nod to the 2024 team going to the CFP inside the stadium bowl. Am I crazy? It’s insane to not have that plastered everywhere you look during a game right?

Edit: the equipment staff has the CFP logo on one of their sideline trunks. At least they’re doing their part.

Cig scrubbed everything from last year. He wants all the attention and focus on this season. I think I remember someone saying that he ordered all the pictures in the hallway from last season taken down. That man's focus is like a laser beam.

It's also kind of hilarious/frustrating that we have fans who still haven't caught on that a score like tonight is the way of the world now in college football when you want to go places. IU Facebook posts were full of comments from (maybe) fans saying things like "call off the dogs coach, we're too classy for this" and "this game doesn't help us in any way" etc.

Yup. Despite ISU being a FCS foe, we beat them  so badly we moved up another 6 spots in ESPN FPI. Beatdowns = great metrics.

Not encouraging news about Beebe’s injury and his availability for next weekend.  Nothing definite, but the general tone from Cignetti wasn’t great, I guess.  I’m not a coach, but my opinion is that Beebe didn’t need to be out there.  But injuries can happen anytime, ie. practice etc., so I suppose I shouldn’t complain or question about it.

How did he get injured? I didn’t see it. I hope he’s OK. He runs with aggression. Love it.

Non-contact knee injury on a nine yard run.  Went down near IU’s sideline.  Cignetti just said that they’ll know more by Sunday or Monday after imaging is completed.

I found this. Obviously, analyzing from video.  he has 220k followers so I don’t think he is some sort of one off. He thinks it’s a PCL sprain.

I understand/somewhat agree with not wanting to schedule FCS games, and this might be a homer take (both ways), but that ISU team isn’t awful by FCS standards. I’ve watched their first two games and they would beat the WIU team we slaughtered similarly in 2024 by 40 points. The FCS teams that most of the SEC schools will play in November will be miles worse than the ISU team we just destroyed too.

Cig had the squad about as locked in last night as I’ve seen since he got here and if they come out like that next weekend they’ll handle Illinois.

Hope we are locked in and beat Illinois. Can’t wait for the game (and the news that we cancelled the future ISU game …LoL).
