And I don’t think it will be possible again. I think it was uniquely possible here at the beginning of NIL. This is a money ball moment. I can remember back in the bowl game we were playing TN and said to my son, they will on side kick here and the IU team looked like they were socked and of course lost the ball and went on to lose the game. I wonder if there is any update on the Miami side. Seems like they had several defensive players hurt/banged up during the Ole Miss game. Quote

No word yet on their starting DBs that were banged up. Hoosier987 1 Quote

Lebowski Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Can someone on here provide solid information regarding the age of all the players on the roster? I'm tired of reading poop online about the roster's avg age being 23. I think that's impossible considering how many SO and FR are currently on the roster. Am I wrong? It's a great question, and I think the interweb has the scoop for you from, believe it or not, the University of Texas 247 message board. This poster took the DOBs from the IU players who have their actual DOB listed on 247, including our 28 year old punter, and came up with an average age of 20.58 years old. But the majority of players without a listed DOB on 247 are freshman and sophomores -- younger than the players with empirical data. So the extrapolated average age of the current IU roster is approximately 20 years old: _______________________________________________________________ John Haynsworth Posted on Jan 9th, 7:32 PM, , User Since 241 months ago, User Post Count: 3363 Jan 9th, 7:32 PM 241 months 3363 went ahead and did the math on this because i'm a f*in loser: first of all, presumably for privacy reasons, the IU athletics site doesn't list birth dates. so coming up with their ages for that number floating around would have needed to rely on less than reliable data, presumably. i went with the IU 247 site, since they're one of the few that lists ages. not perfect, but good enough for sample sizing: https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Team/Indiana-Hoosiers-Football-67/Roster/ that site lists 101 players (the IU athletics site lists 101 players as well). in order to get to an average of 23 years, we'll need to get to a total of 2,323 years. of the 101 players on the roster, 247 provided ages for 34: 700 total years on the dot, for an average of 20.58 years. this includes a 28-year-old punter. so the remaining 67 players who do not have ages need to get to a total of 1,623 years - an average of 24.22 years. except of those 67 remaining players, 35 of them are listed as freshmen or sophomores. for the sake of argument, let's say these 35 freshmen and sophomores are 21 years old each. the average age of the remaining 32 players would still need to be 27.75 years old to get to a team average of 23 years old. i'm going to simply refuse to believe that IU has 32 players who are AT LEAST an average age of 27 years old. it's entirely possible that the 247 IU site has bad data. so i can't rule out 23 years old being accurate. but if 247 is accurate, then the probability that the IU roster averages 23 years is extremely low if the above checks out. triple, Lebowski, AKHoosier and 2 others 3 2 Quote
