IU just dropped a video of DDV arriving and Tucker is in tow with an IU hoodie on, if anyone had a shred of doubt about who our first portal target would be.

We're gonna like his vibe... gonna be the best intro press conference since 2008.

does he steal the "its Indiana, its Indiana" line? or does he create a new quotable....tune in at 11:30 to find out!

I'm tired of talking about but he never backed out. He never said yes. He was undecided until we needed an answer and he said no.

We got our third choice and he very well could be a home run.

Chris,......I was just thinking about this exact thing walking down my HS hallway to the RR. lol

I passed the bookstore I heard some students talking to the bookstore lady, an IU fan, about IU's new direction.

I proceeded and thought, I wanted Stevens badly as well as many others, but when you have to wait, and I mean really wait, for an answer from a potential coach to come and be the next coach at Indiana University, there could be a slight red flag or problem.

Just seeing a few pics of Darian on his way into our storied Assembly Hall, in his "All Business" suit, wearing a telling smile from ear to ear,.....says a lot.

Good morning, fellow idiots!

I watched a couple of WVU games last night and thought I share a few quick observations.

1) DeVries: Very calm during the game. Not a yeller/screamer but still engaged.

2) Defense: The defense really stands out. Players are very active and very handsy -- getting into passing lanes and deflecting. They are intent on disrupting opposing offenses and are successful more often than not.

3) Offense: Tempo is the big talking point after looking at the numbers. I'll say the offense isn't boring. It's not a slog to watch. There's a lot of movement and cutting that creates really good shots. They will go deep into the shot clock but will also take advantage of transition opportunities and quick scores when they're available.

Speaking of transition, rebounding is another thing that really stands out. They are good on the defensive boards but don't crash the offensive glass seeming to prefer getting back to prevent opposing transition opportunities. So don't expect Izzo like second and third chance offense. But like I noted above, the offense generates really good looks and shots. You're fine with this approach as long as you have good shooters/talent making the most of those opportunities.

Lastly, the games I watched were both WVU losses. The team never quit or seem disengaged.

Just some first impressions and I'll also say that DeVries's "style" is really hard to pin down from looking at KenPom and Torvik numbers. He's kind of been all over the place which either means he doesn't have an identity or he tailors his style to his personnel. I'm leaning toward the truth being the latter based on what I watched.

Two things stand out from this:

1)  Oh, no.  Does that mean we are going the track "deflections."

2)  Adaptability is key.  The best coaches adapt.  Sounds good.

Well, yeah.  It’s a safe bet that any school won’t likely be adding banners. It’s hard to do. And we wonder why people make fun of IU fans.

Have you started the "Fire Coach DeVries" thread yet?

I suspect people make fun of some Indiana fans because they are fickle... and they whine and complain about a coach before they are formally introduced...
