Yep. We’d have a couple more Big Ten conference titles. A couple more Sweet Sixteens. 
 
To succeed at Indiana you have to be able to quickly connect with folks. Donors and recruits. Build long term relationships with big donors and local coaching and work your @$$ off.  
 
Crean Struggled with the long term relationships.  Archie struggled with all relationships short and long term.  And Woodson isn’t doing any of them. 

So 6 million dollars is not the answer? The boosters sure thought it was

Try spelunking.  Can't pick up the basketball games on radio down there.  

Long time ago, went in Blue Springs Cave with some experienced cavers.  It's a two-level cave.  Had deflated inner tube slung over my shoulder.  Walked on the upper level...which is dry.  Got to a tube and crawled...pushing my helmet ahead.  Got stuck because the tube got hung up.  Pushed backward.  Pushed everything ahead of me the 2nd time.  Got to the underground river.  Inflated the tubes.  Floated to Coglazers (?) sink.  Climbed out.  Now it is the entrance to the cave/boat tour.  Did some vertical caving too.  Not fun for me.

Makes me sick seeing Kentucky playing flat out good basketball and IU is at a Junior High level at best.

Can anybody think of a reason why we look like dried up dog caca?

They hired a young energetic coach with collegiate experience.  Pope has an identity and plan for not only his teams but the program. I watched one of his locker room post game speeches recently, and he seems like a guy a lot of kids are going to want to play for.

We are at a point where players have come and gone, and the same issues persist, year in, year out...at some point the only place to point the finger is squarely at the common denominator... 

We hired an IU Legend, with no collegiate coaching experience, who was towards the end of his career and working as a bench assistant in the NBA. Take IU Basketball off Mike Woodson's resume and he's not even a thought during our last search. No collegiate program with aspirations to win conference and national championships would have made this hire. And that's just the truth. But its Indiana, it's Indiana...

UK's administration and desire to be the best in the sport has been putting us to shame for a long time now. I think back to when they dumped Billy Gillispie after just two seasons. That was all they needed to see to realize he was a dud and they needed someone better. So  with our fanbase in awe over such a rash move, and wondering who they could possibly get to come there after giving up on a coach so quickly, all they did was bring in the best recruiter in the modern era, and within 3 years they got a banner. 

 

No point in arguing over what if's, but I can just about guarantee if Gillispie had been here with the exact same results, he would have gotten at least two more years to under-perform while competitors started lapping us. Then, when the time came to replace him, no chance we'd hire somebody like John Calipari. The idea of having a coach who had multiple Final Fours vacated was just too much for the lily-white purists who only wanted kids who graduated and went to class for 4 years. So they out-recruit everyone, go to multiple Final Fours and compete for trophies every year while we do...whatever we've been trying to do for the past two decades. 

 

Fast forward to the present day...they punt the national-title winning, elite recruiter because he was past his prime, found a replacement, and they're still a top 5 team. We gave Mike Woodson another year because we were afraid of what people would think of us for canning him. Not hard to see why UK has been so much more successful than us.
