interesting name to throw out there...

WR Makai Jackson from App St. 6'0" 200 lbs w/ 2,000+ receiving yards in his first three collegiate seasons

https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/5088336/makai-jackson

Makai started his career at St. Francis (PA) - same school as Sarratt - and he has been active on social media reposting IU content.  Seeing that Haines & CCC are following him as well.  Lots of smoke here...

Yeah, that one kind of screams CCC. 85 catches as a freshman. Woah. 5/162 and a touch against ‘24 JMU.

portal really shouldn't open until after playoffs/bowls are completed IMO.

Academic calendars pretty much make that impossible because, as much as it's been lost in all this, there's still academic protocols to follow for the schools. It's a mess that I'm not sure there's a good answer to.

Fresno State QB Mikey Keene to the portal, completed 70% of his passes for 2,892 yards with 18 TDs. 8,245 yards and 65 TDs for his career.

It'd be his 3rd school. On the small side, 5'11 200lbs.

-379 rushing yards in his career doesn’t seem like someone who can get out when pressured

Noah Fifita is in. *That* one would have my attention.

Edit: I have no reason to believe the kid from Huntington Beach is leaving the west coast, however.

Quarterback from both USC and Texas A &M entering the portal. The latter was a 5 star recruit.

Have to think these guys saw what Cig did with Rourke and at least their interest was peaked

Both got benched this season. I think we’re good there.

Did they play? If not, he probably won't go after them going by his statements and last year. He likes production over potential.

Both played. A&M guy got hurt, then came back, then got benched.

Change of scenery can do wonders for guys sometimes, and we have been lamenting the discrepancy in talent between our roster and OSU, for example.

Wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss high end talent

That's Cignetti's own stated preference straight from his mouth which matches with the players he ended up bringing in from the portal. I want high end talent but I trust this coaching staff to identify talent that fits.

Understand, but unless he’s oblivious, which I don’t think for a second he is, he had to see the talent discrepancy on the field v OSU.

Many here commented after that game that we need to upgrade our roster. Great to have a roster full of under recruited guys with chips on their shoulders. But if you can incorporate a few stud guys, you have to try and get them
