Dave from Dayton Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Game day means there needs to be some excitement! Yea! Who is with me? South Carolina will give IU a challenge. Unlike those 2 games where IU didn't try early, and Coach Woody platooned. This will be different, or else. https://www.insidethehall.com/2024/11/15/what-to-expect-indiana-vs-south-carolina/ Get the loose balls, do not let SC get comfortable shooting 3s and Malik needs to stay out of foul trouble. Miles Rice needs to make this team his. FortWayneHoosier and Joe_hoopsier 2 Quote
FortWayneHoosier Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 This is gonna be a tough game. I feel it will be within 5 the whole game Whoozhers 1 Quote
HoosierHoopster Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 SC defense is solid (32nd in opponent EF%), our O needs to show up well, neither team shoots from outside well (except Bako has been on fire - hope that continues), could be a battle inside Ballo vs. Murray-Boyles. Rice needs to take care of the ball and assist well against this team, can't start out sloppy like last game, will need to play under control. I like IU to cover, but think we need to be a lot more focused early, don't come in sloppy or we'll be playing from behind. Dave from Dayton 1 Quote
IUCrazy2 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Home game against an unranked opponent (didn't even receive a vote) and we are 7.5 point favorites. We need to handle them. MemphisHoosier, Joe_hoopsier, Dave from Dayton and 1 other 4 Quote
Hoosierfanyuh Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 No offense but we should kick their @$$. If we don’t I’ll be disappointed. Good talent level raises the floor but good coaching raises the ceiling. J34, IUCrazy2, Joe_hoopsier and 4 others 7 Quote
Home Jersey Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I can see anything from a 20 point win to losing by 10. Look forward to learning more about this year’s squad J34 and Jeff Flabjohns 2 Quote

Good talent level raises the floor but good coaching raises the ceiling. From the link in the OP, Lamont Paris, SC's head coach, was hired in '22. SC was projected to be the bottom of the SEC last year. They won a lot and were a 6th seed in the NCAAT. Coach Paris was named the COTY for the SEC in '23. They lost some good players and gained some. They play good defense and hit free throws and get to the line. If they hit any 3's and IU blinks... Because of SC's defense, this is not going to be a pretty offense that IU has. Unless Coach Woody optimizes matchups. And gets them engaged early. I do not see IU kicking their butts. Unless Miles Rice gets 7 assists and Reneau does not get into foul trouble...and we defend well. Quote
HoosierHoopster Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Looking for more of that Princeton offense, get out in transition, spread to the wings, open the lanes Home Jersey, Redcamaro and MemphisHoosier 3 Quote

Stuhoo Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Can we maybe put Ballo on Murray-Boyles? Ballo defends without fouling really well. FortWayneHoosier 1 Quote

DChoosier Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 MM doesn’t look as robotic/stiff, as he did last year, when going to the rim. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Very solid start. Looking connected defensively. Dave from Dayton 1 Quote
