I'd say 4th

If you watch his clips he has played a number of games against P5 teams, Texas etc. Don’t know much about him and clearly not thinking he’s in the top 9-10 but seems like he may have experience that could give him some floor time in spots

Burton, Lindsay, Moody, Harris are the first four guards in the rotation and Monden is the fifth.

For a fifth guard he is experienced and just fine.

This is an IU squad that if talent has been properly identified, can compete and can have two years together. Let's get to .500 or better in the B1G this year, thereby make it easily into the tourney, and then keep the core players together while adding 5 star Branham.

Like I said, IF talent has been properly identified, we can trend toward being a contending program on a national level without major setbacks over this year and next. That kind of upward mobility is exactly what is desperately needed.

I was asking about backup point, not just general guard. We're thin on on ball guards.

He is still on scholarship and they won’t go over 13 scholarships.  Room for 1 more recruit

I don’t think they will go over 13, but if’s not earning any NIL, what harm is there?

Can someone name cbb rosters that have great players 11-13? Genuinely curious.

UConn's 10th and 11th men last season were senior transfers from Le Moyne and IU Indy.

Michigan's 10th-12th guys were incoming freshman (3 and 4 stars). Two of them transferred after the season.

Nobody is out there spending big on these spots. I do think we still need a capable 9th man though (competent backup 5).

Burton will play at least 30+ mpg at point, and Lyndsay/Moody will spot the remaining minutes most likely.  If Burton gets hurt, we're ****ed most likely, but *most* teams are going to be ****ed if their starting PG who averages 18+ ppg is out for an extended period of time.

Still need a competent backup big in my opinion for spot 13 (8 or 9 on the depth chart)

We have 5 guys with proven P5 production in the role they'll play here

2 back of the rotation P5 guys who will play bigger roles this season

3 freshmen

3 practice players / break the glass types

Fair, but really only an issue if Burton gets hurt. I expect him to play 35 mpg in games that matter. Lindsay and/or Moody can handle the other 5.

Yeah we're thin at point.  Burton's health is key and he's coming off missing most of last season Moody is not a point, though he's apparently grown more of his combo-g game. Lyndsay is straight 2. I've been hoping we add a backup on-ball guard to go with a big.

Hopefully the last guy is #11 and not #13.

I doubt we are coming on the Euro big to be ready to absorb any minutes.  Really need someone capable of playing the 4/5 for depth.

Part of me says WTF this guy only averaged 6 ppg om Maryland Eastern Shore what are we doing. Then I calm down and realize yep this is part of the plan. Sokolov is the developmental big. Monden is the practice player/ 3rd point guard. So the next guy is going to be #11 the rotational big we so desperately need. They had to have learned from last year, right? And now they are rounding up enough money to land one more difference maker.

Neither is an on ball guard and Moody's just a frosh but yeah that seems to be the plan... I'd almost bet on Burton missing some games, he's going to be balling hard and he's going to get hit in the B1G, plus he's coming back from missing the bulk of last season. A lot of focus on bigs but if Burton goes down we could tank fast.

Filling those spots with a freshmen is the way.  Manhertz and Karvala would be great at 11-13.   Even though the ranking like Moody least, I like him most.  Those 3 being 10-12 instead of 8-10 was the answer.

For sure. A serious injury to Burton would be really hard to overcome.

If we sign one more competent bench player, two of the three frosh will be 10 and 11.

Just need one of them to be a competent bench option as the 8th or 9th man. I think that's a reasonable ask. Agree that Moody seems like the most likely candidate.

Is the thought that if we only have 10-11 revenue share players that individually players will get a bigger share than if we had 13 revenue share players?  Could that have been part of the sell to the incoming portal class?

The difference seems pretty marginal... just spit balling here.
