All League, All defense, and All Tourney too McRoberts never won s*** anywhere. Never got out of sectionals despite being the consensus #1 or 2 player in the country. Neither has Mullins. McRoberts Sophomore year Duke they went 22-11, 8-8 in the ACC and was upset in the first round by VCU. Who cares? CSP 1 Quote

What's Woodson got to do with how bad Rice is at decision making on the court? What's Woodson got to do with Ballo's off the court decision making? It's not mostly the system that was either of those two's issues. But, again, neither should have been in Danny Wolf's stratosphere. Why were they fine the year before then. Rice went from a PER of 17 under the WSU coach to 11 under Woodson. Do you think he just got dumber in one year? Ballo’s PER dropped to his second lowest of his career and his second lowest shooting percentage over his career. They made the choice of chasing a bag instead of getting paid more and finding a good fit for their skill sets. The other two coaches were able to maximize them. Quote

He looked severely overmatched last night and that was against peer-aged competition. I think he's in for a huge awakening next year. He's the Josh McRoberts of this generation in my opinion. Never won anything in high school despite boasting several individual accolades. Never will wish ill on a kid, but he had the chance to play at IU or Purdue and chose UConn. Not sure why so many are still pining for him? Because he hits shots. Open or not. We haven’t had many of those guys. McD game doesn’t run offense. Guys like him never flourish is all star caliber games. Ive been saying Darryn Peterson is the dude in this class. Last night keeps that vision alive. He’s so good. Hope we can get guards like him someday. SlammySammy 1 Quote

Ball is 7ft tall... he can play anywhere. But he NEVER should have been ahead of Danny Wolf. Ballo also got highlighted in the offense, which is why he came here, compared to AZ, where he wasn't. Ballo wasn't maximized at all at AZ. Either way... the convo isn't about Ballo, Rice, and Woodson. It's about how in the world could you possibly watch Wolf and not have him over those two lol... He's a 7ft stretch 4. Quote

He chose UConn. He's never won anything at any level to the point where I've said to myself, "We have to have that kid". Would have been fine with Mullins committing here, but I didn't lose any sleep when he chose UConn, just like I didn't lose any sleep when McRoberts chose Duke. Forgot about him the next day. You have to pay your own guys too. You have to pay to retain good players. Assuming IUs budget is one of the tops in the country Lville doesn’t have any more money to offer someone like Conwell. Home Jersey Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 The timing of the dead period sort of sucks. When does it end again, a week? After the April 7 date where deals then need to be evaluated? Do we know of any other visitors today? While early in the cycle, we don’t have much of anything to actually discuss / analyze yet so of course people worry about the worst. No idea how feasible this is but… Add Tyrone Riley, Bidunga, Dix to Tucker DeVries and Trent. Add Trent’s HS teammate Dante Allen and the WVU decommits not tied to Frazier (Odih and Maclean). You need some more high end talent but that’s a decent starting point with a lot of youth. Of course we probably will be lucky to add 2 or 3 of those names. Which is fine… I won’t be freaking out over bringing in players not highly rated… as long as it makes sense after watching tape. Quote

From what I gather is that the dead period just states you can't visit the players. You can still call them and their agents do you can still get deals done if you want. Just look at NFL free agency and the top players signs in the first couple of hours that free agency opens. Those players usually never visit the Team they sign with.
