Enright isn't close to a starter in the B1G. His size alone says that. One bench piece for one year. I'm more than fine with that.

The best player in the B10 this year is 6 foot 170 lbs on a good day. What are you talking about size for?

So far I don't see any point guards that look any better than Rice or Maik Mack did last year. I hope we're on top of Isaac McNeely right now.

Last year was the block buster year for bigs in the portal. This year looks to be more modest. Nick Pringle and Oscar Cliff look like my favorites so far.

The wings of T-Rock, Goode, Powell and Sisley are pretty solid.

The guards it should break loose this week.

Because he’s not a Big Ten quality guard.  I mean if he’s at the walk-on level of minutes, no complaint from me.  If he’s expecting or we are counting on meaningful minutes from him, it’ll be a struggle.  Big ten isn’t going to call his flops.  I’m glad he hustles.  He doesn’t shoot free throws well, not a quality you want in a point guard.  It’s like people who tried to convince me Cupps would be a good contributor his 1st year here and all B1G as an upper classmen.  I tried to tell those folks as well.
I agree with what you are saying. Before NIL, you could take guys like this and not think much of it. He would just be taking a scholarship, may not see the floor, but would probably help out in practice. Now, even the practice players are getting a piece of the pie with regard to NIL and other money. The investment is much higher now even for players 10-15 on the depth chart.

It's also day 1 of the portal. Give it a little time.

Enright not seeing the floor and be a practice player?  Come on.

He wouldn't be a starter. He would fill the Yesufu roll on this year's team. Former Drake player.

Completely different players who aren’t even really comparable. Yesufu was an undersized 2 guard who couldn’t shoot.

People have been comparing him to Leal....Leal just now got some starter minutes this year at the end of his career. If Carlyle would have been good at all, their min would have been reversed.

I'm the one who made that comparison maybe. My comparison wasn't their play but their value to a team as a role player and their IQ.

Yeah and that’s the fear I believe people have. They’re nowhere close to the same player. Leal is the definition of heart and hustle, but he was relatively low skilled. Enright a much better dribbler, passer, and shooter than Leal.

I'm just wait and see on him. He is definitely the type of player that would destroy us for his career high if IU played against him...and then as soon as he has Indiana across his chest he's as mediocre as they come. Yes, things can and probably will be different with CDV, with how he utilizes players and their skill sets, but I'm not excited about Enright yet....but I could get there.

I concede. We should be trying to get 15 5 star 20 ppg 15 apg 12 rpg players. Why would we bother getting anybody that can't provide these stats? We need to put up 300 pts every game after all. Absurd
Never said he didn't have a place, never said I didn't want him. He's just not thay exciting. There are lots of players on every team that aren't exciting. Admittedly, I am not a coach and I have never built a championship team, so my input is useless. However, I am a fan and like to watch. I can absolutely be won over on him once he starts playing for IU....if he sees the floor

Jonathan Powell just hit the portal.  I would assume that IU will go after him.

Wrap this JP kid up; he’s got a sweet stroke. Get Enright also for ball handling and leadership. He could also go head to head with Loyer for Flopper of the Year. Need a stud power forward and stretch 5 along with an all big ten potential point. Rice and Carlyle haven’t portalled yet so CDD may believe he can mold them into better players.
