I know we are getting toward the end of the portaling period, but if Hemenway commits before the end, does anyone think Cupps or someone else portals? I don't think so, but wanted others thoughts.

Portal closes on May 1st so if they portal after that then they wouldn’t be able to play next season for the team they would go to.  Coaches every where just waiting for May 1st to pass

Yes, and I believe that Hemenway is just getting visits lined up now — see no situation where he decides before May 1st.

Are you guys sure that it just means no new entrants starting May 1?  The ones in the portal can still take their time, visits, etc.

Yes.  Just can't enter for immediate playing time (grad students exempted).  But a kid like Cupps could enter to "protect" himself and return to IU.  Doubt that he would though.

Not a bad idea but if we filled his spot while he was in the portal he could be left without a team.

Woody strikes me as the kinda guy who, at this point, would say, "Son, you better be sure about this, because if you enter that portal, man -- you ain't coming back."

I realize he took those guys back who went portaling after Archie was fired, but that was different.

There are P5 schools who still don’t have enough players on their roster, it’s going to be hard for IU to get a decent big to come in here and play 10-15 minutes per game when they can go to a team and almost play starter minutes.  I wonder if Woodson would ever consider any JC players?

Just a reminder that although today is the last day to enter the portal, the dust won't be fully settled for a few more days as schools have 48 hrs. (I think that's right) to submit the paperwork to the NCAA.
