If Sherril goes to Duke; he will just be another guy.

If he comes to IU he will be THE GUY. Because there will be nobody else is on the team!

Do we really want a player who just wants to be "another guy" on a good team?  Weak mindset.

Meanwhile a guy like Olsen is clearly not afraid.  Give him 40mpg and 25 shots a game.

Turns out Olsen was a FRAUD.

IU in contact with Eric Reibe & Nik Khamenia per On3

If we assume that the numbers being thrown around are at least in the ballpark I may be alone on this island but at the sort of number Sherrell is gonna command I would take Reibe in the range he’ll command plus another rotation piece and not even bat an eye. I just don’t think Sherrell is that guy.

Interesting. I didn't catch a ton of Bama this year, but I've liked the clips I've seen of Sherrell.

I watched almost every UConn game and I'm not convinced Reibe is that guy either. I would be concerned about paying him high end starting C money based on his defense, but if you pair him with a strong rebounding and rim protecting 4, I'd call it a win every day of the week. Sounds like USC is the early favorite for him.

I really like Sherrell's efficiency and advanced metrics, but like I said, haven't watched many of his actual games. Curious what gives you pause about him?

Ultimately, I think it's tough to say without knowing the $$ specifics. That said, it's a lot more exciting to think about Sherrell or Reibe than Alexis or Bailey. If we land either I will be pretty dang happy.

No idea who Colby is, but he's asking us to believe Scheyer didn't utilize Harris' incredible shooting because "the situation at Duke"?  Sure, there are all kinds of possibiities for why that could happen, but count me as skeptical. Is he better than Jasai Miles?

Yes

Not according to what they've actually done in college. But I guess he was good in HS, so potential. Someone has to be the 4th guard in the rotation, I suppose. I'd prefer those mins go to Moody, but all still conjecture at this point.

Harris was ranked 35th in the class of 2024.  Duke had four guards on their roster ranked higher than that.

I would guess someone like Harris would put up gaudy numbers in the Atlantic Sun.

I would prefer Brumbaugh over one of Harris/Mustaf but that’s just because I prefer two ball handlers in the lineup over one. Mustaf and Harris seem like true wings whereas Brumbaugh is a combo guard.

Definitely interested who we go after as a ball handler besides Burton. Brumbaugh is probably more expensive than Harris or Mustaf, right? Not sure

Probably backup ball handler at this point. Ball is going to be in Burton’s hands a lot. Hope Mustaf and Harris can really stroke it.

If Darren Harris comes here it's not to be the 4th guard in the rotation. Lol

Guess is all we can do, isn't it? I'm not trying to be argumentative, but in 2 yrs of college, he's been bad (see stats above.) The narrative is because he was buried behind NBA talent and didn't get his turn. Ok, all I am saying is while that might be true, that is projection.  Harris has actually done jack squat in 2 seasons, whatever the reason. So annointing him as IU's starting SG seems wildly optimistic. I'd prefer someone that has actually done it in college, even at a lower level (a la Brumbaugh) than someone that hasn't done anything since HS 3yrs ago.

We could probably do worse than Budd Clark as a 1 year back up PG. He could probably be had without breaking the bank and is related to Rod. All Big East 2nd team. Small and not a good 3 point shooter, but smart player, quick, tough and good distributor. Just need to have shooting around him.
