As for Conerway I think he has two years left. I thought it was ruled that the JC seasons no longer count towards your 4 years

From what I read for 2025-26 the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility for players that were previously JUCO. The waiver has to be applied for by the coach, it isn't automatically granted.

IU offers Butler CC big Emeka Opurum. His conference’s DPOY. Butler is where Bargen used to coach, though obviously he pre-dates the kid. 7 footer who averaged 2.6 blocks in 22 mins. Best case scenario there’s your rim protector. Worst case he’s 5 fouls. 3 years left.

Reportedly headed to Auburn

It kind of felt like that was how that was gonna go. But, hey, someone around here called that “an unexciting offer”, so I guess they don’t need to be bored by that one anymore.

Just further reaffirms my opinion that there was something there with him.

On to the next.

B. That's how we're recruiting and that's what he showed at WVU.

I agree that seems most likely. And if we're planning around Bailey at C, that means we need big forwards to help rebound, and perimeter guys who can contain dribble penetration.

and a solid defensive scheme and everyone to be on the same page!

We will double the post, and rotate out of it... (like 90% of teams)

All this angst over Bailey not being able to handle B1G centers on defense..

Wracking my brain to come up with other teams in conference who have centers who could pose problems.

Michigan maybe? But Freeman is really a guy who plays like Bailey. Out quicked Ballo and Reneau last year. Not a post up or power center.

Wisconsin maybe? But their bigs like to step out and shoot 3’s as much as posting up.

Same with the guy at Oregon.

Purdue and MSU seem to me to be the only teams that have strong inside players. However to me TKR Is more crafty than being a power player. Spart’s guys come at you in waves and would present the biggest challenge. Would definitely need reinforcements there.

Don't know about angst. It's just the fun part of planning and building a roster. It's more fun to me than discussing who liked who on Instagram, or what some Twitter burner said.

Anyway, the thing with Bailey is not so much about individual post defense. It's about a weakness in rebounding and shot blocking from our projected 5, and how we could gameplan and roster build around that.
