Archie and Woodson made bad moves constantly and I’ve called out many of them before the coach realized it was a problem. I’m confident in my analysis of talent. A scrawny 6’0” guard that can’t hit free threes, therefore his three point shooting will ALWAYS be streaky. He can’t drive in the B1G. He’ll struggle to defend. He’ll struggle to create offensive advantages with explosive first step. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Have you applied for a position with IU? It’s not pretty, but hey, you need some bench kids as Indiana currently only has walk-ons. …..sounds like he just wants to play where he is needed and knows his role. Enright is a hard working kid that will be outclassed in size and skill in about every single P5 matchup and some other matchups too. I call a spade a spade. Watched lots of video. Games. Looked at stats. I hope we didn’t break the bank on this one. My opinion doesn’t need to be to board’s opinion and this is as underwhelming of an addition as I can imagine, starter or not. I’ll root like hell for the kid once he dons the candy stripes. But when he’s clanking needed free throws or getting bullied all over the court next year I’ll be extra saucy because I saw it coming. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app I'm baffled by these type of responses. Of course you're allowed to feel however you'd like. This player was literally coached by DDV, though. I would assume that someone who actually saw him play every. Single. Day. Knows exactly what he will bring to the court and knows exactly what his strengths (and limitations) are. Popular Post HoosierInParadise Posted April 2, 2025 Popular Post Posted April 2, 2025 Enright is one of those players that would be on a different B10 team, have a decent stat line for the minutes he plays, and then goes off on IU for 30 points when we play his team. Glad we got him... Golfman25, Napleshoosier, HoosierSadaseci and 6 others 8 1 Quote
Popular Post Home Jersey Posted April 2, 2025 Popular Post Posted April 2, 2025 You’d think this commitment came with an announcement from DDV that he will be the starter playing 30mpg next year lol. Maybe it is a “comfort” move based on familiarity but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing if he’s playing an appropriate role. The portal allows us to expect immediate results so DDV must think he can contribute to success in some capacity this year. The fact DDV also just got here, after 1 year at WVU, means the staff hasn’t had the benefit of doing any leg work to get momentum on the recruiting trail. Will take a year probably for the HS cycle even. After a season under his belt without moving again, without needing to build a roster from scratch again… he should have more time to actually implement his vision and be able to execute it. Year 1 is not going to be the best version of the roster. I can be patient for the guy who got Drake rolling Silat Player, AZ Hoosier, JustWinBaby and 6 others 7 1 1 Quote

That said I’m not sure why he is reading waaayyyy too much into this signing. There are 11 spots to fill. We aren’t getting 11 guys that are starters. What we are getting in enright is a good passer and defender who knows the system. taco corp, lillurk, NCHoosier and 13 others 13 3 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Like I said before some just like to *****I’m giving very specific reasons why I don’t think it’s a good addition. I’ve listed 5 or 6 game scouted reasons I don’t like it. I don’t like to *****. I want to feel like the program I love just made a strong move and celebrate the hell out of it. Our program has given us ample reasons to complain over the years. And I’ve complained about a lot of it, for years. I’ve wanted a great guard for 20 years. Doesn’t need to be a 20 point per game guy. I look at both sides of the ball. In a point guard it’s Defense, Ball handling, Free Throws. Those are the 3 keys. People have talked about his defense but I don’t think those people have watched his games. Just like with the football program when Cig brought players from JMU with him. I saw plenty of people questioning if they could play at a big ten level and they proved they could. Those players also were able to help the other players with the system since they new it already. DSUMMITT and skhoosier2 2 Quote

coonhounds Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 I think that our PTSD fan base sees that we haven’t accomplished jack with some really good talent and reacts by thinking we must need even more talent. I understand, but that’s not the way squared away programs do it. Instead, we need a coach that we can trust to evaluate talent and fit, build a team; not a collection of talent, and then coach them up to win big. So, if CDD thinks that Connor Enright can help us win big? I’m in.I agree with this [emoji817].! I just expect immediate success. I will trust whatever he chooses but want the results during the season. Sent from my SM-S926U using Tapatalk MikeRoberts, Hoosierfanyuh and jermhoosierfan 3 Quote

I think the difference is that you are looking at an individual player on a micro level, and I am looking at hiring and trusting the talent evaluation and roster fit capabilities of a coach that doesn’t suck on a macro level.
