The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

The thread was originally to post the call for Woodson's dismissal. It's been watered down by adding the "assessment of former posters" ... 

Saying that Mike Woodson has been an epic failure as head men's basketball coach at Indiana University is not baiting/taunting. It's stating fact. But bravo for you for coming into this thread and taking umbrage at those who want Woodson fired.

Yeah, I've read a lot of stuff here and elsewhere...doesn't mean that I said (or subscribe to the opinion that) Mike Woodson was a journeyman NBA player. I do think he's a lazy, arrogant and crappy coach who is in way over his head.

What is your point?

The only person throwing a temper tantrum here is you. 

Notable future hall of famer Malachi Flynn scored 50 points in a game this season, so looks like you’re right.

You’re the one bringing up Mike Woodson scoring 48 points in a game as proof of his almighty greatness. That was the only 40 point game of his nba career. You seem offended by folks thinking Woodson wasn’t a great nba player.

You also repeatedly talk about “3rd highest winning percentage in the past 60 years!” as if it’s supposed to mean literally anything. Great, Mike Woodson snuck by some crappy out of conference teams. He’s 31-29 in the Big 10, which has been very mediocre during his time at IU. That’s worse than Bob Knight, worse than Mike Davis, and worse than Kelvin Sampson. It’s also worse than Tom Crean’s last seven seasons at IU, and far worse than his last six seasons. 

So, Mike Woodson has a better Big 10 record than Archie Miller. Better lock him up with a lifetime contract.

“Epic failure”. This is why people push back.  Kenny Payne at UL, ok sure but this is just such a ridiculous take.

And I don’t think it’s “he doesn’t know how to coach”. Instead I think it’s “he doesn’t know how to coach college basketball” which is just a different beast than the NBA. He seems to do well with the NBA talent on the roster, he just doesn’t do anything with the rest of the roster.

That’s because it’s been said that coaching is easier in the NBA because most teams have talent players and the only thing the coach has to do is call timeouts and make substitutions, lol!

Well if IU men’s basketball wins 30 plus games for 2024-2025.  The price tag in NIL alone would be about $200,000 per win plus coaching salaries and all related expenses would push the price tag well beyond $200,000 per win …..Sounds reasonable to me Lol.

You are a major D***!!!!  I have been watching IU basketball a heck of a lot longer than 98% of the posters on here and I for one was happy that a previous BK player that had an NBA background was hired but this past year MW showed a lot of unprofessionalism and lacked good character as well as many other character flaws.  For anyone to turn their back on any of that seems to me they lack good character.  Yes, you are a major D***!!!!!  Major D***!!!!!   Major D***!!!!   Major D***!!!!  Get the freaking message?
