Jesus christ. I verbatim said it was wrong. Verbatim. I also said it's HUMANLY possible two people made mistakes that evening.

"What levels constitutes laying your hands on a woman"... THATS WHY I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED THAT EVENING!!!!!

What could possibly justify laying hands on a woman? The answer is never.

Looks like you're fishing for a reason to justify why Beard did what he did? No?

Ok? You're situation had nothing to do with Beard's situation? What relevant point were you trying to make? Because you were falsely arrested he might have been falsely arrested?

Yeah that's not what happened.

My issue is... how do YOU know? The police report?

I fully believe you've convinced yourself of that, yes.

I don't think some of us are even necessarily pro beard. We just think someone is afforded the right to a trial before being found guilty. But if beard got some of the guys on here on his jury he would be toast. There is zero chance they could be unbiased. They already have their minds made up.

I wouldn’t call myself pro Beard. I’m pro IU not sucking anymore and Beard would accomplish that. Other coaches can accomplish that goal. I just have no confidence in Dolson/IU landing said coach. It’s going to be brutal watching us hire yet another dud when Beard is thirsting for the job.

If I’m Chris Beard I’m not sure which would be worse… having some BTB members on the jury, or having some BTB members as my defense counsel. Lol

It would not be a jury. They would vote guilty before the opening statements. I sure as heck would not what any of these guys deciding my fate if let's say I got charged with a made up assault. I'd be guilty no matter what. Unbiased jury. Lol.

She has no baggage. That's priority number one.

We know being a good coach isn't a priority, if it was this thread wouldn't exist because Woodson wouldn't have been hired.

Because neither Beard nor his girlfriend deny that he put his hands on her.

The charges being dropped are a non-starter for me. You put your hands on a woman, you shouldn't be coaching college basketball.

My opinion isn't going to change.

Wow. This would be whittens call. I would imagine the vetting process is extreme for obvious reasons.

I don't think he gets hired, I dont think wade gets hired along with pitino, Sean miller, Bill self etc etc.

Obviously IU prides itself on optics. I would have thought that would be obvious since they haven't fired Mike Woodson yet

I'll ask you this... ever had the police completely botch a situation/not get the full story and you spent a night in jail because of it? And then those charged were dropped within the week because they were COMPLETE bogus to begin with?

I have.

and yet here you are, still pumping certified sunshine :D :D :D

I've never choked a kid, but I still liked Knight as the head coach of IU, and I bet you do too.

Actually, once i saw the video(albeit a couple years after it was released, I told my wife it was time for him to go when he did that and the video was released.

Alright mods, isn't it time to shut down the domestic violence discussion or move it to another thread? I'm tired of scrolling through slap fights about this when we haven't even fired CMW yet.... I'm all for discussing potential candidates but this has gotten out of hand

But it's boosting our page count...

Serious question for the holier than thou crowd. If beard is hired will you quit watching and supporting IU out of principle? I would think morally you would have too if what you say holds any water.

Yes, I've already stated that in this thread that I would not only stop watching and supporting the basketball team, I would actively root against them. After the last 25-30 years, it wouldn't be nearly as hard as it would've been 25 years ago. They might not get me back as a fan.

I would still root for other IU sports like football, soccer, swimming, and women's basketball.

This thread going off the rails is why I'm even more confident now that Beard will not be IU's next coach unless the IU brass want to fracture the fan base. I know they don't read this board but they have to be aware what the effect of hiring someone with Beard's background of domestic violence would be.

So am I. Especially after Duke lacrosse. I can't even imagine the meltdown on here by some if we hire beard. Because he is guilty guilty guilty to them. No trial needed . In fact they would likely vote guilty before opening statements

Not going to go deep into the Beard situation, but two things can be true at the same time.  He could have beaten his girl friend, as the police report and pictures suggest.  The could also not be enough evidence to arise to a criminal conviction -- mitigating circumstances are a defense.  Bottom line, there are enough guys that can coach out there we don't need the baggage that Beard brings.  Carry on.

I have.

Can't say I have.  I've only had a couple of speeding tickets(way back in my younger days). Only time I've seen the inside of a county jail or prison, was when I went on a couple of tours to see what we woukd be doing as National Guard soldiers in case Corecction officers w we nt on strike.

With your post, I can understand why you are want to know exactly what happened.
