Anyone worried about the optics of firing him are worried for nothing.
The ones who would question your decision are guys like Matt Norlander, Parrish, Seth Davis, etc.
Those guys are much more likely to say "what took you so long?" than drag the university's AD through the mud.
They know.

We have 20+ years of having been one of the dumbest, most laughingstock programs in the country. If it weren’t for our history we wouldn’t get an ounce of respect. We’re lucky we don’t get worse, in my opinion.

It will be rough.  The whole point of our bball program is to build a capable and mentally tough team that can win big, tough games.  We aren’t that, and it’s going to be a beating.

Players’ NIL checks will still be coming though.  They will get over it.
