They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

There is a plan in place but as my wife always tells me plans change. I think there are some things behind the scenes going on. Woodson isn't going quietly into the night. Besides money there are a few things to negotiate I'm told.

Also was told last week that Tucker and his dad are being a little difficult. They think he should be playing 40 minutes a game, plus already shopping him around to other schools for next year. So the staff is showing him

If Tucker and his dad are on Woodys azz for playing time then benching Tucker is one of the few things in which I agree with Woody.

I echo what many of you said. If they were to make a change, today or tomorrow is the time to do it. Midway through B1G play and they are off unitl Friday.

It's sad. I never missed a game under Crean or Archie. This season I am just burnt out from IUBB with Woodson. I literally turned the game on right with Maryland hit the go-ahead 3. What an awful sequence of events.

How much longer do IU fans have to put up with this?

So they need to see more? This isn't enough? Freaking ridiculous! About tucker let's just say i am kind of on his side. We have five stars who can't do **** here probably because of coaching! Most guys who leave are succeeding. This can't be a coincidence! Fire everyone

With the NCAA, you never know anymore.  Maybe he could get a medical redshirt because he had knee surgery in the offseason that affected over 70% of the games he played in

“Mike Woodson’s not going out sad like that in Assembly Hall. I’m not resigning without getting the send off I deserve from these fans.”

Whats the hold up? *Well… Dolson and the entire athletic department have to figure out how to get fans to clap for this guy. Easier said than done. I fully expect any retirement announcement to weave in a glowing tribute to Woody and what he means for the program. Capped off with a big Mike Woodson appreciation night to send him off (whenever that may be)… we’ll get a whole highlight reel video in the stadium pre-game, talking points for all the commentators, and some highly orchestrated moments to shower Woody in applause and loving chants. IMO, only then will we be free to start picking up the pieces… lol

I don't think this will happen based on the thought he is having former players come out and support him but...a "retirement" announcement is the best possible outcome for me. It may get fans to support the team the rest of the year knowing this is going to be over with soon. I'm worried the interim coach would do well enough to be considered full time. I don't want that.

Again, I think it's going to get ugly.

I really don't think he wants that. And I doubt that he really knows what he's asking for. He may well get the send off that he deserves, but it will not be the send off that he's expecting.

If they do the video of Woodson's "talking point", what's the over/under on "the hump"?

Can we name the toilets after him: "The King Michael Dean Woodson Throne Room"???

Not sure. I guess until Simon Scott quits funding the Woodson fiasco.

Well it may be but Woodson and certain people created this. He could of left after two years if he was the bridge he claimed he was. But these guys are arrogant and I'm convinced they simply don't want to admit they made a mistake. It's why hiring a former player is always a very risky venture. Especially when they never coached college. It is what it is now.

Agree... it's like dating a co-worker... either you get married and fight as husband and wife or it gets really, really ugly in the office.
