They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Yea, he really highlighted Woody’s deficiencies and gave the fans an alternative to Woody’s garbage.  Attendance has been poor, the number of true fans is dwindling.

Maybe Coach Cig can assist Dolson in the search process, lol!

I got you. Here is the summary:

Thanks for the laugh, but I did find it. It was on another site:

Had to jot a summary down just to keep track of all the **** listed. Might’ve missed some, but here’s a summary of it for those not able to listen to the whole two hours who just want the stories shared:

Called Bigfoot by Indy high school select coaching circuit because he was always talked about but no one was ever sure if he existed

Would try placing tee times on university’s dime at golf courses while on recruiting visits

Told Parker Stewart who had recently lost his dad who was his former college coach that the problem with him was that he’d never been coached—player then left the program

Wrongly prepped for Michigan State instead of Michigan for first big ten tournament, called assistant coach (Ya) a ***** when correcting him, led to a physical altercation

Asked for a meeting with head of Indiana Elite (Mark Adams) to discuss top recruits in the Indiana Elite program, but didn’t even know the name of his top player who Adams had helped immigrate into the US from the Congo, Flory Bidunga (later commits to Kansas)

Never once called the coach of top high school 5 star recruit in Indy (Braylon Mullins) this past year who grew up an IU fan. Dan Hurley and UConn staff called him weekly, kid commits to UConn

Blew off a portal recruiting dinner to drink and play cards with buddies at a cigar lounge

Controls NIL allocations, likely paid Leal and Galloway mid six figures to endorse him as senior leaders

I really wasn't sure which emoji to use- it'd be funny if it wasn't so damned sad

D2 National Championships, yes. But he hasn't won consistently at the D1 level...yet. He is in his first year at Drake.

I am not saying he isn't a great coach and wouldn't have success, I was merely pointing out I think there would be a much shorter leash with the fan base for someone like him vs. a proven D1 winner.

He also has never lost a D1 game yet either haha.

That burner’s tweet about “when it rains it pours” was likely about newtons surgery. Again, they have info but they love the engagement. They were acting like it was something much worse.

So now Woodson's excuse has doubled... two bench warmers with injuries/surgery...

We need a proven winner to turn this around right now even if it's only for 5 years. Can't take a risk on a 40 year old up and comer.

This I 100% agree with because we had that in AM and that’s why we are in this situation now.

I see alot of doom and gloomers in here. I am not as convinced as some that Woodson was brought back this year all because of Buckner. I believe they may have been as dumb as we think. I feel they didn't want to fire another coach already and look like they don't know what they are doing lol. I believe they felt Woodson could do good enough to get the fans back on board if they bought enough talent. I mean they did go pretty much all in on that. I feel it worked for the off season as I think with the ranking and the hype the fans were on board. Unfortunately the season started and we fell flat so far. I believe it is that simple. If this continues he will be fired because fan support is gone and the administration looks as terrible as ever. I believe they were dumb enough to attempt this and it hasn't worked. That's my belief

Lolol we can't communicate and rebound playing man.

That zone…Suits and bank account are good.  He lives in the zone for as long as he can (including staff).

(actually there are many examples.  They are great gigs if you can get one.  Overpaid under achieving, unqualified and hardly any ability….no hall of fame but financial status success)
