another one…

oh and by the way Rutgers averaged 63 coming into this game

And if we had scored 67 or more, that'd have been fine.

But we didn't.

The energy sucked.

I was trying, seriously and objectively, to identify something that this team is consistently good at.

It’s not shooting, or rebounding, or free throws, or taking care of the ball, or defense.

So, what is it (if anything)?

These guys are talented enough to be good at something… so what’s the problem?

Hate playing at Rutgers. Can't remember the last time we looked good there. I'm expecting a low-scoring game with a ton of fouls not called and our players looking lost/frustrated most of the night.

I'm almost embarrassed by how well I know this team and program. This was an easy prediction to make.

I don't think I'm overreacting here, but there HAS to be a coach SOMEWHERE in this world who could come here and coach basketball that's at least somewhat entertaining and inspires just a little bit of confidence. At this point I just have to marvel at how many coaches we've gone through to get the same results year after year. It's incredible.

Who is this and why does it matter? Being serious

I assume he was just posting it for the stat listed. As to why it matters, trust puts it into context how bad we shot FT’s tonight.

I actually don’t know what to make of our shooting performance other than to say we seem scared of playing at Rutgers. Just mentally dominated every game.

Rutgers missed soooo many shots, not because we played great defense but because they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Unfortunately we couldn't either yet it was still close. To have less than 40 points with about 6 mins to go, with this roster, is insane. A good coach should be able to manufacture points against a team like Rutgers. For a myriad of reasons, we p*ssed this game away. It's almost impressive how many ways we played poorly. Kids didn't execute and staff isn't putting them in good position.

If we could rebound we might have lucked into a cheap win. Unfortunately our strategy is hope they keep missing until the ball hits us square in the hands.

Post game a true very well paid NBA trained after game response from coach.
“If you are shooting 3’s they have to go down.”  No first you have to have 3 point shooters that are obsessed to practice 3 point strategies.  “Well we were 6 down and X does something he wasn’t suppose to do.  We just have to get back to work.”  “Our energy was there and you look at what they did statistically we should have won the game.”
when season started I said IU men’s basketball was a middle of big ten pack team and that’s where it will be with current coaching staff.  Nothin happening.

I just don't understand how we are so tall/long and unable to rebound? I actually don't get it.

Our starting lineup looked wayyy bigger than theirs. Just zero boxing out. It's grammar school girl's team level bad at times.

Ware did not have his best game.... at all. Reneau is definitely a guy but he still has sooo much room to grow. Honestly we can still pull off a streak but this team has given me no reason to believe they will do anything other than more of the same the rest of this conference season. Probably miss the tourney. Only reason to be optimistic next year is if you can delude yourself into believing we retain all of Ware, Mack, and Reneau IMO. And that seems very unlikely.

Among other things we are really impacted by 6th year X’s inconsistencies.
He is one of the primary reasons we beat OSU but tonight he decides to dribble into crowded lanes multiple times and give a guy a handy.
Unfortunately, at this point he is what he is.

LOL give a guy a handy now that is funny!

It’s because they’re soft and don’t care. Frankly, A joyless bunch.

They're tall?   Except for Cupps.

No, Woodson, Rutgers sucks but you still haven't fixed the rebounding problem so they got a million second chances.
