I do. He’s my first choice. But how fast this is moving I think it’s someone not coaching right now like Chryst, Fitzgerald or Leonard

Coach Orgeron isn't coaching is he?

Here in lies the problem with IU Football....if we find a Coach who can turn the program around....that Coach will be hired away from us.  I'd sure like that problem however...for once.

My guess is, do to the timing and not waiting...Dolson probably had a new agreement accepted before doing this.  I bet it gets announced this week

The upside of that is that the program should be in a very good state when he does get hired away, making IU more attractive to good replacements. It would also show that it is possible to win at IU.

Paul Chryst really considered a homerun hire?

He would be for me. Never had below a .500 season at Wisconsin. If he still has his recruiting in-roads with wherever he was getting his offensive line from, we’d be just fine. Those OLs were the biggest and meanest I’ve ever seen.

If it was Chryst you’d have to assume Bostad would be staying, correct?

He's also 58 so the chances of him being poached to go to a bigger program would be low. Chryst plus an investment in facilities would be massive for the future of IU football.

Everybody's forgetting an obvious name: Mel Tucker.

Imagine a phone call during the initial process ...

Pamela Whitten: "Hi, Coach. I'm Pam Whitten, the president of Indiana University. Do you have a few minutes to talk?"

Tucker: "Hey, there. What are you wearing, Baby? ... "

Wow

Likely from the state of Wisconsin. He have enough pull to get them to leave the state and come to a cellar dweller of the conference? He's got a pedigree no doubt, just not sure he's a homerun hire for the 17 and 18 year old's he will be recruiting

Remind me.

Why was he let go from Wisconsin?

Would have a bit of a Bill Mallory vibe, wouldn’t it? And I mean that positively.

Tom Allen’s conference records the past 4 years:

6-1

0-9

2-7

1-8

Pat Fitzgerald’s conference record the past 4 seasons (in the WEST division)

1-8

6-1

1-8

1-8

Pat had a phenomenal run followed by an Allenesque multi-year ending mixed in with controversy and a 130,000,000 lawsuit. No thank you.

Likely 4 straight seasons of not winning the B1G West. After going 9-0 and 1st alone in the West in 2017 - never got back to that. COVID season and losing to Allen didn't help

Did make the conf title game in 2019 once more but started to slide after that

He got fired from his alma mater because he didn’t like recruiting. Not sure how that would ever work at a school like Indiana.

Well then, that’s no problem. IUFB doesn’t recruit, it selects.
