Game Thread: IUFB @ Penn State | Noon on CBS

Not to put too fine a point on it but a TD after the pick, and holding on for a win? That might save a guy’s job. And they didn’t even look at the end zone.

IU clearly needs to move on but this sort of talent was always on the roster. You can get a decent squad together at IU and a better staff can make competing on the road against top 10 teams the expectation, not a surprise.

Tom Allen always felt conservative with his playcalling, but with the season we had and the opponent we were playing, we really should have gone all in, not just for playing spoiler, but to give the athletes a sense of pride.

He just doesn't have the heart or gumption, and that will be his downfall.

When LEO means everybody sing the school song, after a beat down, laying on the floor, bloody and bruised..... One would think that gimmicks don't work.

How do I get $20mill to loose? I'll be epic great at it.

Allen just told Fish the team is in “playoff mode at this point”….whatever that means.

I cannot believe after the interception, he had a chance to get 6, possibly take the heat off of him…and we run it 3 times in a row. Said he agreed to not risk the turnover on 3rd and play it safe…For all the passion and fire he claims to show/have, that is such a weak decision.

This is literally Allen saying “we play not to lose”.

PSU gets the ball back and immediately throws a pass 60 yards downfield. What a difference in late game philosophies. Winners win and losers lose. That one series was such a major downer in a day that definitely had some positives.

Maybe. I was watching Dolson prep the contract extension had IU pulled it out.

Dolson had better be forcing to Punt on 1st and 10, if he want's to get a program together here ! If there is an offsides on the punt, Punt it again. Let their defense beat themselves ! 5 off sides on 1st and 10 punts should put us into field goal range. But I am sure that we would get an offensive pass interference on the field goal attempt. Why you ask... Because... Indiana.

We as fans joke about moral victories but we have a coach who believes in them

We still have Illinois, MSU, and Purdon't. Win those and we can get out of the Wednesday games and maybe play NW or Nebraska on Thursday. 4 games in 4 days is gonna be tough but that's what happens when you dig yourself a hole.

(checks notes)....B1G football doesn't have an all-team tourney like basketball, dammit!

IU is so bad that even struggling but winning against them is almost as bad as a loss. PSU will be dropping out of the top 10.

My freshman year at IU, Penn State came in to Bloomington ranked #1.  IU was down all game although they finished strong with a last second touchdown and 2 point conversion that made the final score something like a 5 point difference.

There was no playoff then and Penn State dropped to #2 by only barely beating us.  It cost them a national championship.

I hold that moral victory close since I watched it from the end zone.  Suck it Joe Paterno!  That was our championship that day

Never change IU football

I was a freshman that same year and was at the game. PSU dominated until we scored a couple touchdowns in garbage time. Nebraska rolled someone like 77-0 and jumped PSU in the polls. We cost them the national title that season.

Thank you for confirmation!  So many memories from my IU days tend to be fuzzy for some reason lol
