TTT Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Time after time when things get on the line at critical times IU, TA and staff on play series get ultra conservative with up the middle plays. This time and also against Ohio State in 2nd quarter. Need better prep and strategy. Quote

Talking about the run where the back try to jump over the defender. That's a penalty in college ball, 15 yarder. LIHoosier and DChoosier 2 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Another penalty I don't like is the penalty after the play is over does not count against the down and distance.....so a 15 yard penalty after gaining a first down still gives you first and 10 and not first and 25, but if it didn;t gain a first down (say the play ended in 2nd and 7), it does hurt the down and yardage and results in a 2nd and 22. That's the rule, but I don't like it. RoadRage, Joe_hoopsier, lillurk and 2 others 5 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 I'm expecting a third down drop back with Plummer escaping the pocket for a first down here. monskisprodigy 1 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 If you give up 44 total points to Ohio State and Louisville, you have to win at least one of those. Joe_hoopsier, lillurk, MemphisHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

DChoosier Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Bummer but I feel better about our chances against Rutgers/Illinois etc. Jackson looked more and more comfortable. Have to remember he is only a RS Freshman with little prior game experience. His upside is higher than I thought. D played better in the second half but too bad they didn’t show up in the first half. Still have little (no) faith in the staff when it comes down to crunch time decision making. Allen looks like he is about to give birth when the game is tight at the end.
