I'll admit, I haven't kept as close of tabs on IUFB as I would've liked the last few years. Can someone bring me up to speed on W T F happened with the program recently, when it looked like Allen was turning things around in 2019/2020?

We had two amazing coordinators on both sides of the ball, that while Tom Allen deserves credit for hiring them, proved after they left that they had a lot more to do with our success than Tom Allen himself.

Allen’s a dead man walking and I think everyone involved with the team knows it. The only reason he’s still here is because we can’t afford to fire him. We’re just waiting until his buyout drops. So, why stay at IU when you can play immediately somewhere else?

Unfortunately by the time we can afford it what's left of the program will be a crater and there really wouldn't be anyone worth their salt wanting to come here; not that anyone is knocking down the door anyway.

Can't afford to fire him, can't afford to keep him.

Oh yeah by the time Allen is fired the program will be an absolute dumpster fire (not that it’s not already). That’s why it’s a little weird to me that there’s apparently money set aside for once he gets fired, but at the same time I can’t blame donors for not paying $30 million to get rid of him. Just an absolutely disastrous move by Dolson back in 2020.

By the time we can afford to fire him the program might be able to get a high school coach that lost in first round of the state tournament.

If there's money for facilities etc may as well go ahead and invest so we might have something sell a new coach.

I'd take the other approach and bank it to use as a carrot for a new coach.  We could spend it now but I'd wait for input from the new coach on where he thinks the money ought to be spent.

By that point the program will be a raging inferno of a dumpster fire, there wouldn't be enough money to go around.  The new coach would just look at the crater of IUFB and say "everywhere".

My goodness that buyout was a laughably stupid idea.

Meh. Whatever. I don't know why anyone is worried about guys leaving. Clearly no one on this roster was really good. There isn't anyone to worry about losing. Except Lucas and McCullough.. outside of that, bye-bye.

Just adding guys to the list. People are more than welcome to make a big deal about each kid or not.

The portal officially opens tomorrow. The two of them are in a situation where they can see what specific schools are interested, then declare themselves as available and magically have a new school within a couple days.
