Artie86 Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 I fully support players thoroughly taking their time to choose a school. What I don't really care for is when a player is still listing his top 5 schools, very late in the process. I just think you definitely know where your heart is pulling you with certain schools at this point. I'd much rather see a narrowed down list of a top 3 at this point. Stuhoo Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 The longer this plays out, the more I'd be thinking "he's seeking a better alternative" if I was a Rutgers fan. thebigweave, Demo, Class of '66 Old Fart and 3 others 6 Quote

Yup. Sounds like that Ron thing about, “Hey, his grandparents can watch him at Rutgers” sounds a touch….flexible. Stuhoo and Artie86 2 Quote

I would say that the proximity thing is primarily what is keeping Ruger in the mix. It's a stronger sell for them if it's the case that they're every bit as attractive and proximity to family is the tie-breaker, but it seems as if maybe that's not the case. Artie86 Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 The more recruits hear how well current IU players enjoy playing with each other, as well as just hanging out together, the more they want to be a part of what's going on. Not only that, Coach Woodson's stock seems to be rising among the recruiting trail, especially when supported by NBA players.....JMO J34 1 Quote
Adillac Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Though I can't know anything specific obviously, it would seem from the outside that IU is now a more attractive place to play than in previous years..NIL is presumably big here, the culture and fandom is ofc big, Woody seems like he really connects well to a lot of these young kids and their families which matters. Also helps that you have his NBA experience and guys like Melo, JHS, Trayce out there saying Woody is awesome. I think we get 1 of these guys: Liam, Queen, Fland, Harper. And I don't think it'd be that shocking if we got 2. lillurk and Artie86 2 Quote
