It’s why I said I think X will be dismissed unlike H-man’s statement that my “wisdom” (which was never stated more than an opinion) wouldn’t be found out because it wasn’t going to happen. Quote

If the report is true, that’s monumentally stupid on X’s part. That’s why I questioned the speed. And why is said let’s chill on the whole end of the program, kick him off the team, until the case is closed, ya know like the whole concept of innocent until proven guilty? Totally not related to this situation, but it could. when I was a recruiter in the military, I rented a house in a small town. I had to go through the garage to get in the basement because the door to the basement in the house was broken. Anyway, one night around midnight I went into the basement to get something and as I was walking out of the basement I was met at gun point by a sheriffs deputy. The neighbor had called 911. I was put in handcuffs, thrown in the police car, and told I was going to jail for breaking and entering. I pleaded with the officer for like 30 mins as he tried to figure out why no one would answer my door. He must have thought I hurt someone inside because he called for back up to search the residence for the owner cause there was no response. It wasn’t until a supervisor showed up and figured out that I was being accused of breaking into my own house. Come to find out it was a rookie not long after finishing his probationary period. Moral: the charges for X could have been exaggerated a little, so let’s what and see! thebigweave, Hovadipo, 323SGrant and 6 others 9 Quote
Popular Post jk34 Posted April 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2022 Woodson has been through the full circle of basketball, from player to coach. Most importantly, he's helped raise good children. I may not agree with every game decision he makes, but he is a man of integrity, and I'll trust his personnel decisions. cthomas, BtownStrength, NVFalcons1990 and 9 others 9 3 Quote

Ultimately, this is my summary takeaway. Leadership matters, and this program is being led by Mike Woodson, a man of character who I trust. thebigweave, HoosierFan1994, lillurk and 2 others 5 Quote
NOLA Hoosier Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 I “ran a stop sign” once…all it meant to the cop was I didn’t come to a complete stop. One time I “forefeited my lane.” That meant I had out of state plates and they wanted to search my car. Once I “refused to stop.” That meant I didn’t want to pull over on a busy street so I looked for a safer place to stop. Yep, not buying it. raorIU, lillurk, Joe_hoopsier and 1 other 4 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Lost in all of this is we are trying to determine if he could have been going 90 mph in a Dodge Charger when the same questions wouldn’t have been asked about Duke’s Lamborghinis. Quote

BTW, the reason I don't think Xavier will be dismissed is he is a standup guy (goes to school classrooms and talks to kids). I think if he sees Coach Woodson struggling with what to do, he'll just put his name in the transfer portal and be gone. I don't believe this case will wind up anything worse than a fine for excessive speeding. But I don't think Xavier will put Woodson through anguish about it. He'll just move on. JSHoosier Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 This would be incredibly stupid on his part if it was his 1st incident, but it's his 2nd that we know of and it's considerably worse than breaking curfew. At some point it's not longer a stupid mistake and a message needs sent. Shooting more? That's not a punishment, the whole team should be doing that anyway as bad as we were. Personally, if I was a parent of a recruit I'd have a bigger problem if he just got a slap on the wrist. Quote
