I’m one of the apparent few who loves the portal. I think it’s the best for the game and offers the best chances at getting better faster. Xavier Johnson made us a tournament team.

And almost didn’t with his little NW stunt.  :)

Man the Rob news has social media acting like we have a funeral going on at IU! I get the emotional attachment to Rob, like I said in another post great person, great ambassador, memorable shots, glad he chose IU. What I don’t understand is the comments against Rob moving on, not on this site but in a lot of other places. How is IU supposed to improve, if they don’t improve who is on the floor? This fan base is becoming more and more confusing every year that I get older! We demand success, but when things change, i.e Rob leaving, fans grab their torches and pick forks in disgust. Come on Rob has been here for 4 years, he had some good moments, and some very unfortunate injuries that likely lead to inconsistency. We want to be a blue blood again we have to improve the quality of the players on the floor.

Rob is the only guy who’s been around four years  in this era of college free agency and the like. Suffered thru injury, had some great moments, etc.  He’s a fan favorite cause he’s IU thru and thru. But yes, after your four years are up, graduate and move along.  If you play a year somewhere as a grad transfer, that’s cool too.  It’s what is best for the program — after four, hit the door.  :)

Who else?

Locks: Leal, Galloway, JHS, Gunn, Banks

Probably:

Bates: His dad posted positive social media info about coming back next year

X: Phinisee and Lander leaving give positive indications he's coming back

Kopp : Graduating in December and good teammate, so I don't see a reason to transfer or push him out.

To me Bates is almost certainly coming back. With the attrition, I think it should be clear to him that the starting spot is his to lose at this point. (yes, I understand he has to earn it)

Let’s hope so as people are looking at him to provide that Senior leadership.  And I don’t mean lead them to Kilroys. :)

Ahh.. he's the first guy thats drank with his friends at a bar, out of season. Is that where we are going with this?

Never thought NW was out of season, but ok.  Just pulling his chain a bit.  Relax.

Race Thompson says, "Hello, remember me?"

Race has been here FIVE years -- it's a technicality.  LOL!

Good, I honestly want him back a lot more than some guys who are still here. He's got a lot of value, maybe just not as a 35 mpg type of guy.
On the list of players I've wanted to succeed here, he's at the top along with Maurice Creek.
I'll add Tom Pritchard and Verdell Jones to that list but I agree

Something many (myself included) haven’t discussed is that maybe the staff is hoping for a significant contribution from Banks.

Man I hope you’re right. I like this class a lot. I haven’t seen any of the 3 enough to know what kind of contributions they can give. But excited about them.

I know it’s unlikely but I’d like to see Leal move on. He’s not B1G level and will just take up a guard spot sitting the bench.

Leal would be perfect at ball state, I think he’s good enough to contribute at IU but he could be a major contributor at ball state
