I don’t want to look too far ahead right now, though, because the present is enjoyable! Exactly!!! They are all doing their jobs. If Phinesee hadn’t gotten hot and had a more normal game for him, we lose that game. We are 16-5 and I am sure each assistant has contributed to every win and every loss. We as fans shouldn’t read too much into it and leave it up to Dolson and Matta! lillurk and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Plus our game at home will move in to quad 2 range as well They seem to be the Jekyll and Hyde type. Beat IL and FL, almost beat Iowa. But have some bad losses. Overall, just happy to get the win. Wasn't perfect, but at risk of being overly simple... we outscored them both quarters, and did it on the road. I'll take it. lillurk and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Southside Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Forgot to give a shoutout to Lander.... not a lot of minutes, but good minutes. Was stumping for more minutes for Bates, and he disappointed. ALASKA HOOSIER and lillurk 2 Quote

Popular Post cthomas Posted January 31, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 31, 2022 We can talk about assistants all day long, but CMW is the big dog here and he runs the show. The people around him help him navigate the college game, but I believe he makes all the calls. The Maryland game was to me the first time that I have seen this team composed for a full game. They never looked rattled or unsure of what they were supposed to do. That's coaching and the team learning to trust the process. Hopefully, that continues. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 From J. D. Campbell a pretty amazing stat. Lots of great numbers for @IndianaMBB individually and as a team last week. One that stood out was that we didn’t have a shot blocked in 2 games and we swatted away 16. lillurk, Hoosierfanyuh, HoosierHoops1 and 4 others 7 Quote
IUFAN1976 Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Here is a little tidbit of information on Lander. He played 10 minutes against Maryland and was productive for the most part. Defense seemed a little better albeit it could have been from Maryland being lifeless. However, the thing that CMW wants to see out of Lander is him running the floor, that he can run the offense without looking over to CMW for directions. I for one have seen him do this and I think that started under Archie Miller. It seemed as though all of the guards did it when Miller was the coach. Lander has an opportunity to play more minutes, that is something we all can look it to see if there is improvement. For those of who couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t getting minutes, now you know! I can't remember who it was - I want to say either Devonte Green or Rob - but I'm almost certain we got a non-pressured backcourt violation once because of them looking at Archie for a play call on their way down the floor. lillurk 1 Quote

Green again. I’m going to go down a rabbit hole looking for these plays now. Lol. Looking up the box score on espn and looking at the play by play of some of these game probably isn’t good for the health Hovadipo, Class of '66 Old Fart, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Geronimo 2 in both games, TJD 4 and 1. No one else more than 1. (Others with 1 block each: Race, Galloway, Bates, X, Kopp (!)) Geronimo is a blocking machine, per minute. Quote
