Portal WR from Tennessee. 3-star coming out of HS.

I’ll say this for him. His stats are easy to follow. Last year he had one catch, for 5 yards, vs Tennessee Tech during a 56-0 route.
Previous to that, however, he did have a solid JC season.

I’m not feeling so bad for not recognizing the name.

You can do far worse in the portal than a Bama kid. We are his third school in a calendar year though.

Side note: how great is that picture?

He originally committed to Georgia State. Maybe (who knows?) he ended up thinking that was too small for him. He then transferred to Alabama as a preferred walk-on (he is a Tuscaloosa native) and did not get in for a play. A scholarship was probably a motivator for him. We have a great, great class coming in but it seems like we are rolling the dice on the last two (ie a walk-on and a guy that caught one pass for 5 yards) Who knows, maybe one or both will work out. Good luck to them and we will see.

For those that like to remember some guys…

We’ll be seeing Jonah Morris week 1. He transferred from here to Akron. He then went from Akron to Northern Colorado for a season and then went back into the portal and committed to Illinois recently.

I realize it’s about playing time but it has to be a bit of a letdown going from the BT to Bama A&M. Last season they drew 4-11k for their home games (except for 21k for their homecoming game vs D.Sanders Jackson State team) which had to be basically a HS atmosphere. In any case, probably a better fit for them and best of luck.

Just spit ballin' here, but wondering if NIL and getting closer to home also played roles?

I don't imagine Alabama A&M kids are getting much, if any, NIL money. Probably just looking for somewhere to play ball.
