I humbly disagree. IU needs a guy that can build a  clear team identity, whether that be methodical efficient offense and stingy defense or whoever scores last wins, but we are going to score last, hair on fire offense with low ranking defense, and can recruit effectively to that style.

Getting 5 stars is great fun in June but a directionless group of talent sucks in January and February, 2024-25 Hoosiers are example 1A.

IU and it's NIL will attract a high enough level of talent regardless of who is the coach, he just has to know what talent he needs.

I will say I have heard 10 years 92 million, I have heard 6 years 67 million, I have heard 8 years 88 million.

Is any of it true who knows? But I do know one person who is connected and he hasn't come back on. Have I been wrong? Yes, a lot in the last 10 years. 

But do I hope Dolson can pull off the grand slam? Yes, which probably clouds my judgment.

Likely the same for you but the lack of verifiable details is a big challenge for me and many others. If you could put Scott and Brad even in the same city on a certain date that is recent that could likely be verified and mean something.

No, I have never been told a name because of that. Thank you for sharing what you know though. It is not my SIL specialty and I like to go back and tell her she's wrong anyway. She thinks she's smarter than what she really is :-)

In all seriousness, if there was a verbal agreement in place, I think it's reasonable they'd wait to sign a contract until they're ready to announce, for FOIA purposes.

That having been said, I don't think we'd be going to the trouble of reportedly vetting guys like Chris Beard if we had a verbal agreement in place with Brad. So who knows...

I think you have to keep going through the process until it’s a signed deal. What would happen if that verbal never materialized?  And if it is Stevens, I don’t see him upset at IU vetting others. It’s not like we are going to call him and say, hey, we just vetted coach X and, sorry, you’re out.

I think we're going to see a lot less high school recruiting and more transfer portal recruiting. It will be high majors vs low majors, the low majors will be the development league for the high majors. We'll see less P4's recruiting freshmen in general IMO with revenue sharing.
