He has basically a .500 winning percentage in conference over his first 13 seasons at Clemson. If he is honestly the best we can do with the nil we have we are in even worse shape than I ever imagined

But 71% the last two years. And the argument is that the last two years is more indicative of where things are going. He's doing so well this year, after losing four pretty big contributors after last year's Elite Eight team.

I've been lukewarm on Brownell the whole time, but I'm softening to the idea.

What about few having a dui? I assume he is out as well? Sounds like some of the morality folks want mccollum because he is a good guy.

You're right, Few is probably a raging alcoholic and there must be dozens of people with anecdotal evidence of his public drunkenness. Strike him off the list!

I have great news: If you aren't on the team or work for the IU basketball operation, you won't be part of it.

Absolute BS. The University represents the fans as well. Don't try to act like we as fans have no say in the direction of the University. I don't watch UK because they've run a slimy program for years. The fans are the ones who buy merch, subscribe to the endless streaming platforms, go to games, etc. Try telling those fans that they don't have a vested interest in the program they choose to follow. IF it is Brownell, I have questions.......Was this "the guy" from the start? Did we shoot for the stars and get knocked back down to earth MORE THAN ONCE??? Honestly, with the money floating around for this coaching hire, Brownell would have to be the choice after multiple letdowns, right? If NOT, and its just my opinion, DOLSON NEEDS TO GO.

Listening to Leary with Coyle this morning, Todd said there probably aren't more than 10 coaches in the country that wouldn't take the IU job if offered.  We should get someone very good.

You may be right, we will see. only said he was being vetted so don't need to go throwing away your IU fandom card just yet

I don't want brownell, such a meh hire. but i do like watching his teams play, does more with less and a fun offense to watch (most shots are 3s or at the rim). just hope we do much, much better. very much a mark pope or pat kelsey type of hire

Any way, these threats of not being a fan any longer if we hire 'X' are always funny to me. you know you will still watch games and if the new coach wins you'll be back on the train quicker than a pick-pocketer on adderall

Not if , in this day in age in college hoops you don't "Tom Crean Rebuild time" D2 wonder boy better come in guns a blazing he will see how good of a "tactician" he is when he runs up against Tom Izzo, Matt Painter, Brad Underwood and others don't find guys like that in D2 or the Mo valley. Oral Freaking Roberts fired their coach after 2 years my man.

Ain't me Scotty D's gotta worry about if he gets the hire wrong !

Sorry, just because I buy a shirt or hat, I'm not a part of IU athletics. And if anyone came up to me to ask why I support a coach who did "something bad", I'd say it's not my problem. I just watch the occasional sporting event. It's not that deep.

Scott Dolson is. not. going. to. hire. a. coach. who. has. coached. only. 30. D1. Basketball. games. D2 wonder boy will not be the next HC at IU its a flat non-starter for me .

One good season in the Mo valley means NOTHING. Schertz won 30 games last year and is middle of the pack at St Louis this year.

Millions of dollars in NIL to manage, being able to recruit the portal/ Indiana HS/ National prep schools all stuff McCollum has 0 experience with.

I refuse to believe that McCollum is getting talked about for more than 5 secs. I guess since the search is going on as long as it is makes it unique, maybe you are trying to get your Moneys worth out of the search firm.

Him and Brownell would be the ONLY two hires that would make seriously for the first time in life consider NOT watching / attending IU basketball games

OSU football hired a HC with no D1 HC experience and he won a championship (Jim Tressler)
