McDermott would be a home run hire.  Stealing a sitting coach at a top 4 conference coach with his resume would be a steal.    Not sure why he would want to slum it down to a middle of the pack B1G team that is in rebuild mode when he has things humming at the top half of the Big East with the same amount of fan support there then he would get here 

There is no guarantee he would be. They said archie was a home run. The only home runs are guys like sampson, pitino and pearl who iu would never ever ever ever touch.

Not everything has to be an argument.  You said the other teams spend more. All I did was say Marquette spends money on par with them which they do.

I don't ever remember "they saying" Archie was a homerun hire. I'm sure Fred Glass was the only person who said that or tried to tell everyone it was. lol

Winning track record in basketball before ISU.  AD at the time deserves credit for picking him up.(tennis as a player who wanted to pursue basketball overcoming some barriers both, personal and athletically). Schertz wins.

Josh Schertz is no more of a gamble than (almost) any other possibilities listed for head coach at IU.

Kaizen would probably fit into Pam Whitten wheelhouse

(Schertz philosophy)kinda parallel to Cignetti about improving.

No guarantees he won’t.  You could argue there are no guarantees at all with any coach you hire

I didn't say anything about university spending. I said that Creighton was on par in terms of NIL with the rest of their Big East counterparts. I don't care that Marquette's largest expenditure is renting out the Fiserv Forum. That's irrelevant to any comment I've made in regards to Creighton and their NIL.

I know there is a lot of pressure on Mid-major conference champs to win the tourney, but the only pause I have was not getting to March madness last year that team was stacked! I know DeVires and Drake where right there all year but I was a disappointed. 

part 2 is he is having a decent year at St. Louis they are WAY better than what the program has been BUT I thought they would be a little better than what they are in the A-10. 17-13 and 6th in the conference is a little underwhelming IMO especially when you consider the fact he was able to bring both Avila and Swope with him to St Louis. Be interesting to see if they take a leap in year 2.

Ngl I wish schertz was having a better year at SLU. I know they've dealt with a lot of injuries but I really like how Indiana St played last year

I hold a firm belief that if Schertz kept the squad (minus Conwell, he was outta there) together at ISU for 24-25, we’d be crawling over broken glass to hire him. That move to SLU kinda took him out of the spotlight even though he’s improved them quite a bit in year one.
