I hope so, but I'm not sure this is consistent with how Goodman has been talking about the job the past couple weeks. I don't thinking he'd be pushing a guy like TJ Otzelberger if he knew Brad was already in the bag.

I also think the tweet would likely have been worded differently in that case, without the not a candidate bit.

Doesn't mean it's not Brad, just that I'm not convinced Goodman is in on the ruse.

They aren't similar at all. 

HE'S COACHING AT UCLA..... Good grief. 20-11 at BAYLOR vs 15-14 at UCLA and Cinci. You're hard to take seriously.

Well, the results aren't comparable between the two.... so what else could you be clamoring for Cronin about? Dude went 16-17 and 10-10 in the PAC 12... in his 5th season at UCLA and his 20th season in coaching.

Scott Drew had an exceptional season during COVID and hasn't duplicated anything close to that while at Baylor the last 20+ years. We call these outliers.

This is about how I feel; am surprised at how similar they are. UCLA has tons of heritage, but it's well-known that they have had very poor institutional support in making the transition to NIL. I think their styles of play are very different, but that there isn't a huge gap between Drew and Cronin.

Results trump results.  What are you even talking about?  Drew has a better resume than Cronin and coaches at a much worse school with a history of bad basketball than Cronin ever has.

Woodson/Archie hires are weird in that on day 1 we would all assume Woodson was a worse hire. But in results I don’t think it could get much worse than Archie.

There really isn't.

Drew's best season is better than Cronin's best season but using a nearly 20 year data set, they're very comparable.

Its all agents man.  They are making his low buyout public from an extension signed in January now ? Why ? Well with Rev sharing on the horizon he's trying to make sure a good percentage is gonna go towards Basketball. This is what the Iowa State 247 board has been talking about in regards to if Otz is truly interested in the IU job. and as RTZ mentioned IU job talks generates high views / interest so the national media loves it. 

Any agent worth a damn is gonna use this to get there guy what he wants in terms of NIL / Contract desires. Have Goodman and any other national guys float is name out to strong arm the ADs. If they call your bluff? Then ok maybe he does come to Bloomington if he don't already have the guy. 

Same deal with McCollum , maybe floating his name forces the hand of the AD at Iowa to move on from Fran at the risk of losing a good in state coach? Maybe maybe not .
