I feel like he’s like Crean where it would work for awhile but then he would wear out his welcome. He’s not Tom Izzo he can’t call out players and call them whatever he called them In a press conference and think it will just constantly work. Relationships are important especially to AAU coaches in Indiana and I just don’t think he has the personality to succeed here. Especially when he’s not even a championship level coach

Has there been any other comments from Stevens denying interest?  Surely I missed another comment but was out for the evening and playing catchup now. Not sure why everyone has given up.

There was never an official no. What do people expect Brad to say right now if they don’t want it leaked? Same type of statement Dusty made yet some people are ready to move on to him after saying the same thing.

I think what frustrates me most with the Beard issue is no one in the pro-Beard community is willing to admit the only reason Beard is even an option is because he got fired for cause from his alma mater for felony domestic violence. The focus is all on the charges being dropped. Okay, that’s fine if you want to believe it was all make believe, but that doesn’t change the fact that 1. Texas paid him zero dollars and he didn’t litigate it, and 2. Had it not happened, Beard wouldn’t be an option at all. The two issues (Beard being an option and why he is) are interconnected. Had the DV thing never happened, Beard would be less likely than Oats or Stevens. There is not one without the other.

Ben McCollum is both a better coach and NBA executive than Stevens. Don’t bring him up again.

I'm with you. I am questioning in my head why other media outlets are not all over this. Yes, a couple places (SI and Insidethehall) are reporting the original quote, but most are completely avoiding it. For example, unless I missed it, I haven't heard Benetti or Hummel bring it up at all during the broadcast of the game. I also haven't seen it come across ESPN, CBS sports, etc. Seems like too big of news to not say anything at all.

The other "insiders" are trying to  concoct an excuse.  "Well, the contract was sent, but then the Celtics found out so BS panicked...yadda yadda yadda...."  

Don't believe any of their crap.  I do give Isac credit for at least coming back to post.  The others are hiding out.

I am in the Beard camp and honestly he is my number 1. However if Dolson and Indiana fully vetted him and said no he is not an option I am fine with that. I just want the university to do their due diligence and homework on a guy that would crawl to Bloomington and I believe would win big. I would be satisfied if they did this and said no.
