Report: Mark Turgeon could be looking for exit from Maryland; possibly eyeing Power Five job in Midwest

Interesting....

I would assume that would be Iowa St. and not IU

In all seriousness, do some of you sit all day in front of your laptop or are on your phone all day. I checked it for the first time around noon and there were 500 posts. I just now checked it after 3 hours and there was 200 more and it's the same people.
I'm disabled, but I have other things I need to do or enjoy.

Wouldn't kill interest in the program, it would kill the program, period. Hire Woodson, boomers will feel all warm and fuzzy until the winter, then when the harsh reality sets in on what they've done, no one will be left to support this corpse of a program.

That has been the case the last 3 times IU hired someone considered a top candidate

Iowa st is filled already.    Marquette could be an option

I hadn't seen where Iowa St. has hired a new coach

That or DePaul maybe?

It said power 5 conference and Marquette and Depaul are not in a power 5 conference

I know. But I wouldn't take that restriction literally.

All speculation, but I was just thinking that I'd put the odds at ~80-85% that the next coach is on this list: Beard, Beilein, Drew, Musselman, and Oats.

The more I consider this, I really think we can eliminate Beard because he is not offense-minded enough (and I think Dolson is looking for an offense recruits can get excited about) AND I'd speculate Drew is eliminated based on past indiscretions (right or wrong).

That leaves Musselman, Oats and Beilein at strong odds IMO. I'd even push to 90%.

Dolson goes hard after Muss and Oats post-tourney and has Beilein (with CC, Lewis, etc. on the bench) as the ultimate fallback.

Probably could even take this a step further and disqualify Oats based on his buyout (though I personally hope not). That leaves Muss and Beilein. Finally I can stop thinking about this for a few hours ........

No he is not to old

He is if our goal is to potentially land someone who is a long term option. If our goal is to just get better then it’s not an issue.

My take: To a certain degree due to Covid, 2020 was sh*t and only now are there inkings of getting back to "normal'. From that, people have not been able to physically connect for quite a while and this community of IU fans needs an outlet to connect. Different strokes for different folks, but this is a distraction that is needed to have some sense of social connection. Also, again a COVID phenomenon;  more people are working from home on their computers than ever. So I imagine many are working, but can be on the message boards more since the boss isn't looking over their shoulder, so to speak. I could be way off base, but just initial thoughts from a teacher who has felt the stress of trying to teach "virtually" at times and all the problems that has gone with that. Don't be too hard on us man!
