I would be incredibly disappointed in Dolson if he didn’t do everything he could to land one of them. I do not. Just heard from someone who interviewed, who got his info from Dolson. Those were the only names brought up except Stevens of course Hoosierfan2017 1

He might want to look into options when this blows up in four years. Get over the age thing. I get it, you’re a young coach and you will get your shot. IU can’t take a shot at a you g guy after the last experience. Needs to be someone seasoned that can handle this big of a job. This isn’t Penn St basketball. thebigweave and T White 2
Trish Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Mike ******** Woodson! Took four years to get the Hawks over .500! Four years from now we'll be tied for 7th in the B1G with a first round exit in the Big Ten Tourney! Feathery 1

Those Knicks teams were stacked! They had Melo and.... uh.... a broken Amare Stoudemire? How dare you insult Steve Novak like that! He's basically a step-brother to this program. In all seriousness though, look at this squad. A bunch of knuckleheads and guys multiple years past their primes. The fact they not only were a cohesive team but won 54 games and made it to the conference semi-finals is a complete miracle. Stuhoo and T White 2

Then we will really just be grasping for straws because how ugly it could get will run away any chance of a decent coach seeing the fan base turn on Woodson. Trish 1
Hoosier1984 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Stewart adds his name to portal and assume more to follow so this has to put pressure to find a coach soon I’m sure

Age is never a thing for me. Hell, I want John Belien. HE'S THE OLDEST FART! It's his lackluster resume, it's his no experience in college basketball, it's his zero experience in recruiting. We can't find someone with a better resume?? I rather have Thad Matta and the board knows how much I'm against Thad. Feathery 1

Based on the names that have leaked so far, I am not entirely sure that a current college-level head coach is the direction Dolson wants to go. That's hugely complicated by the tournament preventing contact of course, but it just hasn't been part of the conversation at all. Probably means it's guaranteed to happen! Hoosierfan2017 1

Carmelo is a first ballot hall of famer and was in the middle of his prime. Tyson Chandler was a year removed for DPOY. JR Smith was a knucklehead but he was very talented. And they were playing in a weak conference.
