Yep. I have a hard time believing, to the point of almost a zero chance, that Stevens has been sitting there for over a month contemplating on whether or not to accept the job, and just today said, no thanks. Since I never bought into Stevens, I’m not disappointed. Brownell on the other hand…..

A plane from Bloomington is heading to see Brad Brownell in Clemson, SC.

To be clear I have no idea if it has anything to do with the search but a plane in Bloomington is heading that direction in a couple of hours.

But later today some planes are all meeting up in Miami again.

Scott has made it clear going back to last year he was ready to move on, I know he's got the Cig hire in this back pocket BUT I just don't see how he's able to sell pushing out a program legend to hire McCollum or Brownell? or Scott being willing to take THAT big of risk 

Again I think any candidate that gets hired is gonna get 2 years MAX to show they can raise the floor of the program above what Woodson has (most likely 3 tourney in 4 years) there will be no honeymoon period. If your not winning 20 + games per year by year 2 people are gonna not only come for coach X but Scott as well.  

Worried even in NIL and Transfer portal era we could revert back to post Sampson era basketball if this doesn't work 

I don't see "pushing out" Woodson as that big of a risk. A ton of money was being spent for what...a 9th place B1G team? And a team that completely missed the NCAA tournament last year? 

Not to mention the blow-outs? 

It was not a hard sell to most IU fans - even alums who contributed to the university. 

And what coach gets less than 4 years at IU, unless they do something unsavory that gets them fired? Come on, IU has a slow trigger finger...

Of course one potential explanation for all of it could be miscalculation & incompetence by the decision makers.  Let’s hope they didn’t misread the tea leaves to think they were getting the big fish, or if he was a no one of a few other big fish, only to find they’re settling for some worst case scenario.  I hope not, & we’ll see how it ends, but that would just about make sense if everything we’ve been hearing…

I watched the High Point game the other night and really liked what I saw in Huss.  His name seemed to get louder and louder over the following days so I'm wondering if it's just confirmation bias on my part or if he is truly in the running.

If you are thinking about Dusty, then it’s McCollum, not Brownell.

Except what are we hearing? Speculation, rumors, whispers. I’m not throwing shade at posters who know people. I’m saying that most people close to this are hearing almost nothing. We read posts and tweets and then react to them. But in the end, this search may be going exactly how Dolson wants. So until we know who our coach is, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt that he deserves and enjoying the rumors, whispers and speculation as entertainment and not something to really care much about. I view this board like the times back in school when we’d go to Kilroy’s and argue about sports all night. Only without the beer smell.
