It’s a big time thing going on with hometown trainers a bunch of kids are tied in with. No one knows who they are, tough to track if anyone ever tries.

No ill feelings to Franklin. All I can do is speculate, but fear of a new system and diminished scoring opportunities impact players every year. I would have liked to retain all the players, but to keep 5/6...that's a great sign of stability. Best of luck to Franklin....now let's fill those last spots with kids that want to be here every day and play in front of the best fans in college basketball.

Overall, I think our back court will be better. And with hopefully Woodson's scheme tweaks, and Matta's history of good shooting teams (you have to think Matta will do more than sit behind a desk), any personnel losses won't be a thing.

Getting Race back IMO is probably better than Franklin coming back if we look at need. Now we just need some contributors at the 3, 4, and/or 5, to help round out the roster.

Your thoughts about Matta's position may have just slipped into the "gray area" some have spoken of.  Not sure working with the players is part of his job description or even allowed.  But I truly am only passing along what others have said.

I searched the internet (perhaps someone has better info), and all I could find is he can't travel on recruiting trips, and can't coach on the sideline. I think it's very gray, but I'd bet he can participate at minimum during practice, which is all I care about.
