I know I said Reeves, but instead I want this guy!  He’s a much better player than Reeves.  I am actually surprised he isn’t getting drafted, looks like a pro to me!  Kind of wondering why he isn’t getting drafted.  If we land him, we should vault up in the rankings, IMO.  If he goes to IU, this would be the most complete team IU has had since the Zeller, Yogi, and VO team!  I sure hope we can get him if he is definitely putting his name in the portal!  By the way, it’s not tampering, IMO

I saw an NBA scouting report and they expect he could end up a second rounder next year. I want this kid BAD! Seems some more connected to the program think there’s legs to the rumor about IU involvement. Hearing Kansas and Kansas St could end up being involved as well. Kansas has such a log jam at the guard position, I’d be surprised if they got any consideration. This kid is wanting to be somewhat of a feature piece and has aspirations to play at the next level. I think he’s the missing piece to the puzzle to take IU to the next level! I officially have my hopes up!

Official. Hart to UK.

Calipari went portal shopping for veteran leadership and so far has come up with two skinny three stars that will be unplayable as freshmen.

Rupp Rafters is currently throwing out every tired stereotype that can be attributed to low rated white players. Even a Braden Smith comp…  smh… waiting for him to be called the next Aaron Craft by them lol

I mean, I’d get behind this right the F away.

like I was saying the other day, a few of the guards will be unhappy with their role probably, but outplay your competition.

watched film on him this morning.  Very confident shooter.  Great size. Moves off ball.

It gives Trey first guard in at 1 or 2. Which I love.   Gunn, Cupps, Newton would have fewer minutes to compete for but if we are trying to win the darn thing you don’t want to have to rely on Gunn or Cupps yet.  Injury depth.

Fill the spot if you can, Win games, deal with consequences later.

Kentucky Sports Radio with an interesting choice of accurate words on the Hart commitment:

The standout shooter out of Linton, IN chose to play for John Calipari in Lexington over opportunities at Indiana and Rutgers, among others.”

Not “offers,” “opportunities.”

Hart says Calipari compared him to Tyler Herro as an underrated small town SG that thrived at UK. Fwiw, Tyler Herro was the #38 composite ranked recruit; Hart is #197.

Him and Jordan Banks feel a lot like the canary in the coal mine recruits for Calipari.

I get the impression that UK sees Herro as Calipari’s Oladipo, except he was already a high major kid committed to Wisky who blew up the summer before his senior year, bailed on his Wisky commit, and could have gone anywhere. So, not quite the same.

I think Indiana is best suited to have more guys playing together that can handle, make plays, shoot, push the pace and defend multiple positions.

You aren't alone, Ant Wright posted a similar starting lineup with MM at the 4 and KW/MR splitting the 5.

I doubt we'd do it, but I'd rather see:

XJ

TG

Forbes

MM

Reneau/Ware

That’s not going to happen, barring injury.

If we get Forbes it will be:

XJ, Forbes, MM, Ware and Reneau.  1st 4 off the bench will be TG, Walker, Banks and Sparks

I actually don't think Walker would be in the top 10. What I heard on Assembly Call it made it sound like Walker will have to work hard to get in the rotation

XJ/Cupps

Forbes/Galloway

MM/ Gunn

Reneau/Banks

Ware/Sparks

Yeah it probably won't, though probably should at least for stretches.
