IU has 2 players for next year and this is probably the most excited I’ve been about the future of the program in 6 years.  This program needed a full reset.  No holdover players and no holdovers coaches.    Let’s go.

Sisley is an Indiana recruit. He was committing to IU regardless of coach.  Program recruit.

Yeah not counting on Goode, but -- still at least possible it's 3 players

Ahmad Nowell, U Conn., 6'0" combo guard, freshman.   Had trouble getting into U Conn's rotation, appearing in just 18 games and 6.5 minutes/game but was ranked 33rd in last year's incoming class.

Meechie Johnson, Ohio State.  2 years at Ohio State, 2 years at South Carolina, and then back at Ohio State last year.  Eligible for another year because one year was the free covid year and should be eligible for a redshirt year this past year as he was limited to 10 games.  Averaged 9.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.  In 23-24 he averaged a career high 14.1 points at South Carolina.  Over his career, he has played in 116 games, averaged 9.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists and shot 37/33/74.

That’s one active young big kid.

Gonna be a good get for someone

Absolutely. Pharrell Payne minus 25lbs is easily within his range of outcomes and given how springy he is he could be a fair bit better. Would take the kid in a second.

Nowell is gonna be a nice buy low play for someone. Was nicked up a lot and never got into any flow at all, but he’s a tough kid.

Agree. Like the idea of a Nowell/Enright tandem. Get a high ceiling player like Nowell with multiple years of eligibility left to ease his way into minutes.

Anyone heard rumors about Brayden Smith possibly into portal after the season to KY?? Several UK fans have mentioned it...must be some smoke coming from somewhere.

If that happens, we might as well shutter college basketball.  Smith needs to graduate as a Boiler.

I've heard anything from 5 million to money will not be an issue to get him to UK

Same. I said 3-4mil last week and heard back from a PU guy that is pretty connected that the number now is closer to 5. I find that hard to believe but what do I know…

I think it’s 50/50 he’s outta W Laffytown.

I hate that this is what college basketball is becoming because this isn't what is supposed to be about.
