Well it looks like Wade was able to make a stronger a$$ offer than running kid’s camps in Albuquerque.

I'll be one step closer to quitting college basketball if Will Wade gets LSU in the tournament in his first year back after having no roster in May.

That is quite the threat—a step? ;)

It is overwhelmingly likely. He can coach a little and he’s got a good roster.

It was fun laughing at Kentucky’s failures while it lasted.  With the addition of Mitchell they’ve got a top 10 level roster on Paper.  I guess Pope gets another crack at it with elite talent.  Always kinda figured the money had to eventually be spent.  I think he kinda sucks as a coach so there is some solace in that.

I’ve watched Mitchell play probably 50 games at Mizzou the last 2 years and he’s a really good player but I’m not sure this a very good fit. Gates did an excellent job playing to what he does but I question if this UK roster is set up to do the same. Moreno better give them a million boards a game because you’ll probably get 8-9 a game total from Mitchell/Momcilovic. And Mitchell is a world class ball stopper who doesn’t shoot it very well and likes to play with the ball off the elbows and I don’t think Diallo and Wilkins is the sort of combo you want with him. You’ve got 3 guys who like to drive it and 1 shooter and I think that ratio is kind of backwards. And what made Pope’s offense really good at BYU was the spacing and movement and this roster is constructed with a bunch of iso guys. We’ll see how it goes. Better be a whole lot of buy in.

That’ll be the question again. I could see Pope screwing it up.  Definitely a Talent over fit type team.

Expanded tournament this year as well -- 76 teams (44 at large).

Forgot about this. Yeah, he'll be in. We might actually make it too.

It never ends. Luis declared for the NBA draft, went through the Combine, signed a 2 way contract and was an asset in a trade for an actual NBA player(Georges Niang). What is an argument for that guy ever being eligible? And it’s not like he’s teenager who made a bad decision. He’s about to turn 24. If that guy’s eligible who’s not?

Will Wade...unfreaking believable. @Uspshoosier wasn't kidding when he said this guy has nine lives.

Basketball

We are 100% heading toward a sport where Braden Smith becomes a mainstay in Noblesville and then returns to Purdue in 2027.

Painter indicated that if they were granted elibility (Smith, Loyer and TKR), he would wish them well but it wouldn't be at Purdue.  Says he has time for the new guys and they've already been given his word.

Interesting that he didn't choose to go back and play for Pitino.  Not sure Pitino's position on having players come back that has went through an NBA draft but have to think it wouldn't bother him.

I seem to recall watching a Big East Tournament game, might have been against UConn, in which Pitino benched Luis for almost the entire 2nd half and the announcers pretty strongly implied that the 2 did not get along at all.

Easy to say things like that when you know they're not coming back. It's also easy to say that about Loyer. I'd like to see him say that if Smith and/or TKR really wanted to come back and had won eligibility in court.

I find it appalling that Devries brought back Sam Alexis, thereby not extending the same level of respect to Clemens Sokolov.
