From Inside The Hall:  Class of 2023 Evangel Christian School center Cyr Malonga did not make an unofficial visit to Indiana yesterday as planned. Had a conflict with summer league games. He's working on getting that visit rescheduled for early next week.

What he did at Pangos: This was my first viewing of Booker, but our Jamie Shaw has long been high on the 2023 prospect. Now I see why. A long, left-handed slasher Booker got buckets in a number of ways this week and showed himself to be a solid rebounder. He’ll need to become a more consistent shooter, but his strength, quickness and ability to finish at the rack are undeniable.

Where he might land: Booker holds offers from Kansas State, LSU, TCU and others. He’ll likely see his offer list grow significantly in the month ahead.

If you weren't already aware, as of midnight last night coaches could start making direct contact with the '23 class.

Jalen Hooks among those we've already contacted.  Also Maki Johnson, Kaleb Glenn, JaQualon (J.Q.) Roberts (Bloomington North HS) and Xavier Booker.  Probably some others as well that just haven't been made public yet.

Travis Branham tweeted we've been in contact with Reed Sheppard 6'2" combo guard who attends North Laurel HS in London, KY.  His name surfaced earlier this year and there are previous posts in this thread with info on him.

Not bball or IU but we had a cool moment for my 2023 daughter. She got a call from the coach at what had been her #1 school for soccer on the first day they could call 2023s. I was all excited for her but she did not understand the importance of getting that call early on the first day they could call.

I think I enjoyed it more than she did lol.

Jalen Hooks unofficial to IU set for the 22nd.  He'll unofficial to Cincy on the 21st and Pitt on the 28th.

Illinois Hoop Prospects indicates we reached out to 6'8" SF Matas Buzelis who attends Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH.  He plays AAU for Mac Irvin Fire on the Nike circuit.  He originally attended high school in Hinsdale, IL.

Myles Colvin's father told Nick Baumgart that we've been in contact since direct contact became permissible.   Colvin is a 6'5" SF attending Heritage Christian HS in Indianapolis.

Trent Markwith of Relentless Hoops indicates we have an assistant coach watching Wheeler HS vs. Huntsville Lee this morning which I'm assuming continues our interest in Isaiah Collier a PG at Wheeler whose name first surfaced in April.  Wheeler is participating in the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GBCA) Live Team Camp.  This is a 2-weekend event with over 30 teams playing in Wheeler's division.  Over 150 different schools in all are participating so this is a pretty big event.
