(2021) SF - Aminu Mohammed to Georgetown

Morgan was a Crean recruit. So at the very least, both Crean and Miller deserve credit. But Miller will have more former players in the NBA. It is likely TJD will make it. There will be more.

The fact that he wants to enroll next semester and the fact that Georgia creaned someone in the past couple weeks has me thinking this isn't gonna go our way. It happens every now and then, and during COVID-19, it's pretty much chaos -- but how often do you see a guy say he's leaving the program right after the start of the basketball season? Crean needed to create space -- and that's what he did.

The fact that Georgia creaned someone to make room for Mohammed got me to hearken back to 2012, when "The Movement" was on the way. I wasn't on this board then, but remember seeing on another chat (maybe the comments in IndyStar or some chat on FB) that there was a secret plan in place if we had remain oversigned -- had Ron Patterson not mysteriously been deemed academically unqualified at the last minute.

Anybody remember that? Anybody know of such a plan? I recall seeing speculation that maybe since Yogi's parents could afford it, he might pay his own way for a year -- and officially be declared a "walk-on" until the following year, when a scholly would open.

Georgia doesn't get that scholarship to give until Fall 2021. If he wants to go to UGA and enroll after the semester break, he'll need to pay his own way for a semester.

I thought that was Eli Holman when Crean wouldn't let him out of his scholarship. I guess there could have been multiple potted plant firings.

I was apparently recalling the holman leaving incident incorrectly.  I was thinking he was creaned but apparently not.  oops.

Come on, don’t worry about it. Level of competition, not a sniper, possible 1 year guy, has a handler, get old stay old, blah, blah, blah.

Snark aside, 2 things: 1) I’d be willing to bet my house that Mohammed/Harmon haven’t said a thing to any coach involved with him, 2) The presence of a transfer from the OVC has exactly zero impact on whether or not Mohammed comes to Bloomington..

Yep. We tore Aminu down. Built Parker up to something he’s not to feel better(We did the same thing when we pretended the shooting woes were fixed because Leal was coming).  All to avoid calling a miss a miss. 
 

Missing is what we have become shots and recruitments.  You can’t miss on options A, B and C and be successful in college basketball.

Or, it could also be accurately described as "We've discussed the upside and downside of Aminu."

Just like we did with Parker Stewart.

Seems to me that the consensus (for what that's worth lol) is that both Aminu and Parker have some questions attached to them, that some prefer one or the other as an addition, and the VAST majority of posters chiming in would be thrilled with both.
