2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

Looks like domino #1 has fallen while I was in a meeting. Hate Friday meetings. I hope he lands somewhere where he will get some playing time and can develop. If what I'm hearing is correct he won't be the only domino but hope that's wrong. Can't believe he announced before little 5. Hope he still gets party access like most basketball players.

Clifton might have been lost, but he can rebound Offensive and defensive, and block shots.

Fitzners minutes should have gone to Jake or Clifton, imo.

But the staff practices them, so they know best.

I understand the thoughts; I had them too.

But if a coaching staff that saw Clifton every practice for two straight years didn't think he had a chance to be more effective than the Fitzner we saw? Wow - if we couldn't trust them on that one, then all of the coaching staff's credibility would be shot.

The coaching staff obviously was hoping that Race could be plugged in, and gave Clifton and Jake enough of an in-game look to make me think their play only confirmed what the coaches saw in practice.

You dont want any other transfers? Personally i can think of one and maybe two others I think need to leave. Be nice to bring in three new guys this spring.

True but it useless to have guys who are totally lost stick around. And guys who are not big ten level players.

One player I would like to see go but that is me personally just because he drives me crazy, but never like seeing kids transfer.

Yeah, unless it’s personality conflicts and not buying in.

It’s not always about the physical skills. If a player doesn’t do what a coach asks he ends up in the doghouse. I suspect this as a potential option.

Fitzner, seemed very likeable but outside of 2 games where he hit a couple shots, he provided nothing. He couldn’t rebound or defend his position.

Our poor season-in no particular order

1) Fitzner wasn’t as good as planned. Played too many minutes

2)Romeo never gelled with the offense. He is slick in some ways. But it just never fit. Not enough cutting/screening. Couldn’t shoot

3) Justin Smith was all sorts of bad. On offense and defense. Didn’t look like a D1 basketball player. Played tons of minutes.

4) Robs injury

5) streaky to plain bad shooting from Devonte and Al.

1 consistent player all year. 1 our of 14........

Hopefully Justin Smith is next!! I've seen enough of his half hearted effort to last me a lifetime! Other than him I hope the rest stay. Damezi could be a concern. Agree no one else needs to leave though.

I've heard rumblings of Moore leaving for weeks. Good luck to him and I hope he finds a better situation.

Wish Clifton nothing but the best! Not really surprised-hasn't seen the floor much and it didn't look too promising for him. So Morgan, Fitzner, and Moore are gone. It seems likely Romeo is going pro. I think there is one more transfer (Smith, Anderson, and Forrester in the order of most likely). Surprised of all the Brunk chatter but I will take him! Talented player...TJD and De'Ron will log a lot of minutes. Race will too if he is healthy. Need a shooter and I will be very very happy. I just hope the guys have a 2011 like offseason and get tired of losing because I know us fans are!!!

Maybe.

Brunk will be more trustworthy but he hasn’t exactly killed it at Butler.

I was excited about Brunk last week because he was good in high school but looking over his college career has really lowered my expectations.

C'mon doc; we're talking the standard for a huge upgrade from the production we received from Clifton Moore! ;)

Tijan would be an even swap; maybe even a slight upgrade for the comedic message board content his "Ligerness" brought.

IMO, I thought Fitzner was at least a willing defender....not a good one, but willing.  I thought Clifton never looked like he knew his defensive responsibilites.

Only two guys that come to mind are Jimmy Chitwood and Middle School Bob.
