Purely FWIW.  On3.com's list of its ranked '22 players who remain unsigned.  We've reportedly taken recent looks at Leonard Miller and Jeremy Foumena and Zion Cruz had an IU offer from Archie.

Is Foumena's lack of offers a product of less exposure due to COVID or the fact that he is a bit of a project?

I would guess both/and, plus with late blooming bigs there’s the question of if it will translate to a higher level of competition

Wonder if he would take the perferred walk on over a scholarship at a smaller school.

That’s tough, but would be interesting. Who knows maybe he and Cupps are really close too, which would help.

Don't know.....being that he's out of state, if he were a walk on without a scholarship would bump tuition (before room and board) more than $27000 over what an in state student would pay.

He had originally committed to Drexel back in October of 2021 before reopening his committment.

If we want shooters then why don’t we offer Indiana kids like Fletcher Loyer? I must be missing something?  Purdue sure seems to find them.  Strange..

Current staff had nothing to do with offering kids like Loyer so TBD on if they will offer Indiana kids that can shoot moving forward

I sure hope so….6’5 4* Indiana kid who is a coaches son and can shoot lights out seems a no brainer.

That’s supposed to be our Miller Kopp.  You can’t have a roster full of these guys. It’s tough. Stefanovich turned out great in that role.  Purdue has done better identifying talent than Archie and Indiana for a while. He’s also arguably a better coach. We have Leal, who fits that role that can hardly get off the bench.  Galloway fits that role just can’t shoot.  I’d rather have a Caleb Love type at the 2 than a Stefanovich if I had my pick.  Ceiling floor argument.

Yes!

A guy that can get his at the end of the shot clock, last 2-5 minutes, and offensive breakdowns. 3 level scorer, as well.

I think if you watched Bates and Loyer play pickup ball in the same gym, you pick Bates over Loyer every time.  No reason Bates won’t get that shot steady. It’s close. Galloway is a different story however.

Gunn is 6'5 and a pretty good shooter.

It’s hard to say how kids will fare in the big league I guess, just thought it’s interesting we didn’t recruit an in-state kid like him at all.
