Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 My Chris Beard inclusion on candidates for replacing Crean looks good. If anything one thing he does is beat Purdue lol. thebigweave, ALASKA HOOSIER and chicagoHOOSIER 2 1 Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 I hope Painter stays at Purdue for a very, very long time. They won't be a tournament threat as long as he's there. darB s'tI, ALASKA HOOSIER and Josh 3 Quote
Popular Post chicagoHOOSIER Posted March 24, 2018 Popular Post Posted March 24, 2018 I really cannot wait until we can begin to celebrate our own victories rather than our rivals' failures. But man, epic celebrating our rivals' failures sure feels good right now! I guess it will just have to do hardy har! Savor it. Hopefully this time next year we can remember this week fondly. Speaking of fond memories, Sunday is Archie's IU anniversary. IUsafety, HoosierSadaseci, ALASKA HOOSIER and 5 others 8 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Btw I'd still take Archie, but I said last year Beard reminds me of Knight. Their relationship rubbed off on him. Great coach and bright future. If I was U of L I would throw him a blank check over Mack. Just my opinion though. Mike White is still on my list of future stars in the coaching ranks as well. BTW how the neck hasn't the Loyola coach even been mentioned with any openings? Great run is usually the formula for a big new job. I don't know much about him though so who knows. HoosierSadaseci Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Good to see Purdue go down, too bad Haas was out, they'll use it as an excuse, which is legitimate, but THEY STILL LOST! Carsen Edwards will be tough next year. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Purdue seriously looked like they quit after Tech hit that three to go up 63-55. Same as last year when Kansas outscored them by 40 over a 25 minute stretch. chicagoHOOSIER and HoosierAloha 1 1 Quote

Don't worry, we're due for the good but not elite team we usually get about once every three or four years that will lose around 8-10 games and maybe reach the second weekend. Then it'll be two or three more years of hoping for outcomes like the last two nights while we're several weeks into our offseason (I don't really believe that; it's the last 20 years of mostly dismal, boring failure talking...but you never know). Fun fact: One of Rick Greenspan's assistants at IU hired Porter Moser when she took the Loyola AD gig a few years ago. Grace Calhoun. She also moved Loyola from the Horizon League to the MVC. Good move. She's at Penn now. IUsafety and Yogi's Picnic Basket 2 Quote

Hoosier Guy Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 So Elite Eight play begins tonight. Loyola-Chicago vs Kansas State and Florida State vs Michigan. I’m going with Loyola-Chicago and Michigan Quote

While we can understand their pain, it's not like losing a key player is unique to PU. As you said, we lost May and Henderson (who were each much better players than anyone on this year's PU team) and had our title aspirations killed. Another point is that it's not like PU was steamrolling everyone coming into the tournament - they peaked in January and were vulnerable before Haas' injury. Quote
