That win felt really good and I am now very hopeful with Smith.

His free throw form is really pretty and makes me think the shooting isn't a total fluke.

That’s a good team we just beat and it puts us back on track in the Big Ten. Smith gives us an extra scorer on the floor—he stepped up well for Deron. Now let’s get on a roll!

For those interested
Minny with an rpi of 76 means this was a Tier 2 win. Tier 1 win would be a win on the road (1-75).
FWIW it would of been IU’s second tier 1 win.

I had a bad feeling that those last 3 minutes or so of the first half was going to be our undoing, but the right guys played and kept playing hard.  It also felt like this team really liked the pace the game was played at.

Question for anyone who knows: Is the Hurt kid that plays for MN the brother of Matthew (who I hope was there)?

That is absolutely not correct. It's our 4th win their in 10 years and almost every other game has been extremely close in that time. I know its a weird building and is extremely intimidating but in the last hand full of years we have done better there than at most other places.

If you go back further though, some of my most memorable losses as a kid were at Minnesota when we were the much better team.

His stroke has looked nice in the limited play we’ve seen this season. He’s swished some threes and mid range twos.

Agreed prior to that we were not great.

I was referring to recently only where we have been better there than anywhere else almost (as I said 4 wins and other games have been close losses in last 10 years) on the road. PSU has been our best recently. where I believe it is 5 of 6 and 12 of 16 if I counted right. Worst is Wiscy where we have lost every game since 98 and MSU where we have one win since 91.

I hope this game makes people relax regarding Archie for a while. Rome wasn't built in a day, and IU basketball won't be either. There will be growing pains along the way but Archie is the right guy for the job.
