Class of '66 Old Fart Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Purdue’s Matt Painter will be in this afternoon to meet with Top-35 junior Caleb Furst, a source told @Stockrisers. Official visit to Virginia is set for this weekend. Quote
RatpigHoosier Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Our recruitment involvement with him has been so quiet I almost forgot about him. Since Lil Brother’s chips seem to be all-in on him have we pulled back? Or is he just not a huge priority anymore? I guess I’m just viewing it based on what I read on this board and he hasn’t been a hot topic at all. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Being a Fort Wayne person I really like him. It seems we still spend time on him but we seem to be prioritizing Kaufman at a similar position. Maybe that is situation, or maybe this kid just isn’t into Indiana much. But we’ve certainly spent time and some efforts. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Be interesting to see if Furst really asserts himself to be the leader of the team. Last year, he had Frankie Davidson who IMO was the real leader and in many games had a better stat line than did Furst. HoosierAloha 1 Quote
Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2019 All FW Blackhawk as it destroys FW North Side 105-59. Furst finishes with 29 pts. on 10-14 FG and 9-10 FT; 14 reb; 3 asst; 2 stls; 6 TO. Interestingly, he didn't have any blocked shots and went to the bench with 4:30 remaining in the 4th Q. Blackhawk had a big size advantage and Furst in particular about 5" over his counterpart. Blackhawk played a 1-3-1 with Furst out top. He runs the court really well and I thought he looked quicker with his lateral movement. He needs to really work on developing a right hand and almost always spins to his left. I think 4 of his 6 TOs were bad passes. ElectricBoogaloo, BGVille Hoosierfan, thebigweave and 7 others 10 Quote

Some of the announcers on high school game streams are absolutely painful to listen to. Quote

Some of the announcers on high school game streams are absolutely painful to listen to. Agree, they were fine. Though some of the weird randomness of the local announcers has it’s appeal. The guys who did the couple of Luke Brown/Blackford games I watched last year were pretty fun in that, “2 half drunk dudes at the bar” sort of way. Plus, your assessment of Furst’s night was pretty spot on. Class of '66 Old Fart, Alford Bailey and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Blackhawk Christian and New Haven were tied at halftime, but the Braves had an impressive showing in the second half, going on to win 74 to 48. Caleb Furst led the Braves with 23 points and 18 rebounds. Marcus Davidson added 20. IUsafety, JaybobHoosier, fwgreenway and 2 others 5 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 In the Forum Tipoff Classic Silver Creek gets the win over Blackhawk Christian 78-74. My unofficial scorecard had Furst with 23 pts. on 9-11 FG; 5-7 FT; 9 reb; 1 asst; 2 TO; 2 blks. He has developed a nifty spin move since last season. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 He's such a different player than the one I watched numerous times last season. Much more polished. Frankie Davidson was the leader on last year's team but Furst has really stepped up to become the leader with Davidson's graduation. Those highlights that IAWT posted are not something you saw from Furst last year. Stromboli, SlamaJamaSisley and BtownStrength 3 Quote
