That's a good thing cause him and his posse are having a good laugh tonight.

Plus one about adapting defensively.  There are a lot of "we have no-talent posts", against friggin Ft Wayne, but having multiple games where mid-majors shot threes like they are playing H.O.R.S.E is disappointing.  No, this is not a "get rid of Archie" post, but ....it is almost funny to read that when we have a good defensive game and have few turnovers it is because Archie is a great coach but it is Crean's fault when we play like tonight.  It is a process but a little more consistency will be welcome.

This is one thing I'll say:  those people who blamed Blackmon for our lack of defense really didn't want to look very deep.  Most of the guys Crean went after weren't known for their defense.

And if you don't think we miss Blackmon, you're nuts.  We most certinally need his shooting and it's not like his defense was any worse than we've seen on the floor in several of our games.  I do think people truly overestimated what we were going to put on the court this year -- didn't matter who the coach was.  You don't lose the talent we had the last two years and have a couple of mediocre recruiting classes and expect to miss a beat.  My concern is that we could lose some of the guys we did keep that are young and are seeing the veterans out there floundering and still can't get on the court.  Clifton Moore is a mirage at this point.  Justin Smith barely makes an appearance.  I'm truly not a big Josh Newkirk detractor, but if I were a freshman seeing him play as a senior I'd have to scratch my head as to what he has done to deserve minutes that shouldn't be going to younger guys.  I don't think much of Curtis Jones' game, but I understand why he left.

I live in Ga. I have a daughter that swims for them and a son playing baseball for GCSU. Have you heard of Kirby Smart? Second year coach and playing in the BCS. Might end up with the #1 class this year, right behind the #3 class last season..Don't tell me a coach needs 3-4 years. Wrong hire. I know that is not a popular statement, but it is a fact. This is Indiana, but that bark has very few teeth these days.

Wrong.

Also why are you comparing football to basketball? What was Georgia's record the year before Smart became head coach?

I agree with the flaws.  However, while I did not have inflated expectations for this year I must admit I did not think we would lose to both Indiana State, AT HOME, and also lose, AT HOME, to an apparently massively talented (according to some posts) Ft Wayne team  that has already lost to Akron, East TN State and OAKLAND.

Thing Forde forgets is IU fans pretty much gave Crean a pass for his first three seasons.  If we lose our next 19 games, our record will match what Crean had his first season.  Sure, the circumstances were different....but let's not act like Crean wasn't given a chance.  He had nine years here and only had winning seasons in the Big Ten once.  He did have two Big Ten champsionships....and promptly didn't make the tournament the next year in both.

Forde tweeted that he was stunned last year when Crean was fired.  So the guy is just full of it.....in one breath he's talking about how IU fans didn't want Crean, and then in the next he's talking about how shocked he was that he got canned.

Do we really need stars to compete with Fort Wayne???

They have a nice little team. They play good schools and compete against them to their best. They went small to take Davis out of the game. They just happened to have a great shooting night from a few players.

It is about coaching. If it takes 3-4 freaking years to turn it around at a so called,"Blue Blood", you are in way over your head. I don't care what sport we're talking about. This is about being one of the top paid employees in the entire state. You don't get 3-4 years to show us anything. Dance or move on. I'm sorry, but I have heard all of the chicken sheet I can stand. The TO's are the same, the so called "pack line defense", has mid majors licking their chops. We have another snake oil salesman that is selling the same ole story for a multi million dollar payday. ISU and FW @$$ kicking? Really? What ya sippin'? Grape or cherry?

Do you know Coach K's record during his first three seasons at Duke?

That is just not true. The turnovers were the same this game, but we played 3 games in a row with less than 10 turnovers at one point which never happened under Crean.

Since you clearly already have them handy, why don't you point me to them?

I'd also be willing to bet that over 40% of them are by our starting senior guards. Is that Miller's fault?

It will be a long season. Hope I am incorrect, but a .500 conference record looks likely

Not surprising to come out flat after the best win of the season against Notre Dame

Do you have any idea what his salary was during his first 3 years? Do your homework and get back with me. SMH

So your argument is that if you are paid a large salary you have to win immediately regardless of talent, instituting a new system etc?

I'm sorry but that is not a logical argument.

What does his salary have to do with his coaching ability? That makes no sense at all. Your argument was "If it takes 3-4 freaking years to turn it around at a so called,"Blue Blood", you are in way over your head. I don't care what sport we're talking about."

To add to this, these guys took final exams all week and had an emotionally draining win just 48 hours earlier.

Still doesn't excuse this, but our mental state shouldn't be surprising.

No offense to you at all but this is so soft.

No excuses for this performance.

This was a chance to avenge one of the more embarrassing losses in IU history. We should have been "turnt up".

This team has next to zero fire. Miller has a lot but it isn't connecting. I hope half the team transfers tbh.

What has changed? CAM took over a known roster. He made no changes in CTC's incoming class, and has been applauded for keeping that class together. What has changed? Are the TO's down this year? Are we becoming a defensive juggernaut?. Do we have a top class coming in next year? Jury is out at this point, so we shall see. Please tell me about the bright light shining through the tunnel. It looks like the same train to me. Please tell me why a transfer from a middle of the road is seeing the floor at IU. Sell me how CAM > CTC. This should be good. I also want to go on the record that the CTC era was underwhelming to say the least. You have the floor sir.
